Milwaukee M18 Fuel Cordless Drill with One-Key 2906

Milwaukee Tool announced new One-Key versions of their latest generation M18 Fuel hammer drill and impact driver.

The new tools are said to deliver “the fastest driving speeds, enhanced safety, and advanced customization technology.

To start off, the new M18 Fuel One-Key hammer drill, model 2906, features an adjustable AutoStop anti-kickback technology.

Whereas the 2904 M18 Fuel hammer drill also features AutoStop technology, the One-Key version has low, medium, and high sensitivity settings, as well as customizable RPM settings.

Is that a Rohm chuck on this drill?

I’ve got both the previous m18 hammer drill and the m12 right angle drill. Both are great tools, but I decided to swap out their stock chucks with Rohm units, and I am far more pleased with them now.

Milwaukee has had some disappointing chucks on their drills in the past, so if they are now going with Rohm that is fantastic.

Home Depot had this set( not one key), on their daily special about a week ago. It included a bonus 8.0 ah battery for around $349.00! It was tempting!

Is it crazy to wish that they had a bundle that includes high output batteries?
I’d rather have additional spare batteries for the tools that require the HO batteries.

I thought it was a Drill/Impact in one. Seeing its two separates.. nope. I have need for a drill/driver/hammerdrill in one. My DeWalt will just have to settle for new battery instead of replacement…

I’d love to see an article about some of the major price increases in larger power tools lately. Personally, I’ve been in the market for a planer lately. I noticed just in the last two weeks that the Dewalt dw735 going up $100, grizzly jointer/planer combo units going up 20%, and more.

Another idea would be looking into the viability of the jointer/planer combo units in general. Have they gotten any better over the past few years? Are the Jet units(that get like 2.5 stars at multiple stores) really as bad as the reviews make them out to be? Just an idea.

Most tools cost more today than they did 3+ years ago. It sucks.

What more could I say beyond that?

I have never heard anything positive about combination jointer/planers until you get up to Felder Hammer A3 series, which are quite pricey. I’m sure some are acceptable, but I too have seen enough negative reviews that I was deeply discouraged anytime I looked at the category with purchase intent.

I appreciate you taking the time to answer!

Grizzly came out with 2 new benchtop combo units a few months ago that seem to be promising compared to the Jet models. They have true helical cutter heads and seem a bit easier to switch between modes, for example. And yes, I’d love to have the funds for one of the Felder models. It is difficult to decide on milling tools for a small hobbyist shop.
