Milwaukee M18 Six-Pack Charger

No, Milwaukee’s new M18 six pack isn’t a beer cooler or carrier, it’s a sequential charger. Connect up to six M18 battery packs of any size, and it will charge then one by one. Compact batteries take 30-minutes and extended capacity battery packs 60-minutes each to reach a full charge.

The six pack charger has a compact footprint and comes with a handy carrying handle, and a pass-through plug helps free up outlet spots even further. Each battery charging location has its own LED status indicator for easy monitoring.

The new cluster charger is available via Milwaukee dealers for about $99.

I hope they make these in the m12 platform…

Or a hybrid M12 and M18 charger, with the 2x charging locations on the end changed to 4x M12 ports. Or even just 2, so they could still call it a six pack.

But I guess Milwaukee’s research showed that this is what more users wanted.

What’s the advantage to making it sequentially charge the batteries? Wouldn’t you want all of them charging simultaneously?

Lower costs, smaller size, reduced complexity.

To charge two batteries at the same time, you would need two independent circuits. Otherwise the total charging time would still be double as long. So in order to charge all six batteries at the same time, you would need six independent circuits.

If you have a couple of batteries to recharge for use later in the day or the next day, you could either use several chargers at the same time or swap batteries in and out of one or two chargers.

One of these chargers won’t be enough for work teams that have multiple chargers in continuous use, but several plus enough spare battery packs would certainly reduce any charger-related efficiency bottlenecks.

Ar first glance, this thing is awesome…..but i’d prefer a simultaneous charger option….at least for jobs with a crew of people. For working on your own this sequential would be fine.

I also prefer to keep the 18 volt and 12 volt stuff separate. I don’t like combo chargers at all. Seems clumsy pairing up batteries for different tools. 12 volt tools have their own spot on the benchtop/toolbag and likewise for the 18 volt tools. I would rather see a stand alone dual charger for each separate battery type.

This looks great for carrying your batteries on the work truck too…
