As you might know, Milwaukee Tool holds an annual new tool media event (NPS) where they announce a whopping number of new tools.
NPS is usually an exclusive media/press/influencer event.

This year, the COVID-19 threw a wrench into things, and NPS20 was effectively cancelled. Its absence has been felt, leaving us all without the typical window that allows us to look into the Milwaukee Tool’s future future releases.
How are we going to know what’s coming out soon?
That’s where the new Milwaukee PIPELINE comes into play.
What is the Milwaukee Tools Pipeline?
Pipeline will be a new web series where Milwaukee Tool shows off their latest and greatest new tools and accessories. At the time of this posting, (4) episodes are scheduled.

Should You Watch?
Every year, a lot of people ask “how can we partake in Milwaukee’s NPS new tools show,” and the answer is “you can’t.”
Some influencers and media channels live-stream from the event, or record demos and presentations, and that gives you a glimpse of things. But, that’s also an unfiltered stream of presentations and demos, often with heads and shoulders in the way of cameras, or noisy tools being demo’ed in the background.
Registration is free. The question isn’t should you watch, but why wouldn’t you?
Your Expectations for ToolGuyd New Tool Coverage?
Milwaukee has provided some ideas on media participation, and I’m interesting in hearing your thoughts on this. Some of the suggestions include:
- Hosting a watch party
- Hosting a Q&A or interview after the event
- A more in-depth view of the development and innovation behind a new solution
Media will receive more details, imagery, and information – typical press kit stuff – and so I’ll be able to answer your questions once announcements are made. But, I’ll also be digesting information at about the same time as viewers.
I’m thinking that we could follow up with a rundown of each episode after they go live, and you guys could chime in about you want to see discussed in more detail. What are your thoughts in video interviews? Perhaps remote demos? We have some time to plan things out.

I have an older 1.3Ah battery and new 1.5Ah both in front of me. I don’t think I’ve ever used the 1.3Ah battery – it might have come with my Ryobi 18V RC truck.
Objectively, the physical differences are slight, but there is a difference. Plus, the new batteries have a fuel gauge. They’re a little shorter in the Z-axis direction, and there’s a cut-out in the new angled front. Some of the materials have changed, giving the locking latches a different and improved feel.

I’ll be interested in what you glean and “boil down” from the “event” . A single company “trade show” was never of great interest to me. Maybe I’m old and jaded having attended the Hannover Messe and the IWF in the past.

I too like seeing the cliff notes, but I don’t need to hear a single rep speak.

When we were looking for a new (just introduced) tool we’d ask questions like:
Will this likely improve our productivity significantly enough over what we already have. Will increased productivity pay for its immediate purchase?
Does this new tool represent an improvement (how likely and significant) in worker safety – or reduction in things like worker soft-tissue injuries ?
Will this new tool accomplish a task we are unable to or is cumbersome to undertake?
If this tool looks just like an incremental improvement – when might we phase it in to our tool replacement plans?

Strip out the emotional selling to yourself so you can make objective purchase decisions, Sure there’s tools I want but until I have a good reason the money is better invested elsewhere. Occasionally I justify a reduced sales price to get something if I expect to have a future need.

I have seen more than enough and just cannot watch it … but YT algorithms insist I have to.

Drug dealers are trying to make a living too, doesn’t mean you have to respect them. If his video titles weren’t 100% click bait (“Don’t buy this tool before watching this”, “99% of people don’t know this”, “Epic FAIL blah blah”) it may be a different story. But I just cannot stand that rhetoric, and then you get poor amateurs quoting him like the bible. I thinks he spreads misinformation from his biased sample size of N=1, and it causes others to further spread that.
Between him and AvE I just don’t know who I dislike more. Just my opinion.

Their typical event includes a lot of people and a lot of setup. For an effective web series anyone is interested in, and with social distancing involved, it’s still going to take a lot of work. I’m okay with things spaced apart, gives me opportunity to provide coverage at a more relaxed pace than NPS.

I’m thinking of the main event playing on, say, 80% of the screen, and then a chat box where people from this community tie in their intimal thoughts/comments/jokes.
I saw the email and registered last week (mainly because I’m a fan of Milwaukee tools), but am not entirely sure it will be worth taking time away from family / projects to watch tool promos for things I can’t buy yet anyway.
A virtual watch party would increase the incentive to watch live, vs just catching the coverage afterwards.

Most of my cordless tools are M18 and M12’s. But I do have an older 18v Milwaukee drill. There’s nothing wrong with it, it works great. But it would be nice to be able to use the M18! Does anyone make an adapter? Can someone make one? Tired of the stupid “just go buy a new one” responses!

Yes. There are several companies that make v18 to m18 adapters, usually with 3d printed bodies. Just use the search term “Milwaukee m18 to v18 adapter” on Amazon, eBay, or your favorite search engine.

I’m interested in what they put out. One thing is I bet with all the pandemic thing most companies stop doing the expos. And now you have a web event that is free for more people to “attend” Which is a plus in my book.
