Acme Tools kicked off this week with a Milwaukee tool flash sale.
Today only, 3/24/25, save 15% on select Milwaukee storage items and hand tools, or 20% on select power tool accessories.
I sent some tools to a young electrician, and kept feeling that something was missing. As soon as I wrap up this post, I’m ordering them a set of Milwaukee’s excellent USA-made screwdrivers. 15% off is pretty sweet – what should I add to the mix to make the most of the shipping fee?

Home Depot has another round of tool deals of the day, featuring cordless power tools, accessories, hand tools, and more from Milwaukee, Dewalt, and Ryobi.
These deals have started to become frustrating to sort through. A lot of the deals are repeats that have been discounted just about weekly since at least October, but there are some new promos or bundles mixed in that you’ll only see with closer scrutiny.
For example, Milwaukee’s M12 brushless rotary tool is on sale, and I think it’s the first time in a while, and a bundle with the M12 Fuel band sand ant 3″ cut-off saw.
There are some M18 Fuel cordless outdoor power tool deals and bundle offerings.
Lowe’s has very cheap prices on some Kobalt 24V Max cordless power tool gear, including a 2Ah battery and charger starter kit bundle for just $20. There’s also sale pricing on select Worx and EGO tools.

KC Tool – Pica BIG Dry Construction Pencil
If you’re planning a KC Tool order anytime soon, they have deal of the day pricing on the Pica wide lead construction pencil. If you’re not, Amazon has it for a few dollars more.
Ohio Power Tool also has New Tool Deals, mostly misc Milwaukee tool bundles. It’s worth a quick look. New Bosch and Klein tool deals are set to kick off today at 12pm (CT??).

That’s very thoughtful of you! What did you get the electrician to start?
Stuart
A bunch of unsolicited test samples that were too specialized for me to easily test, duplicates (extra Leatheman Juice I bought when it went on sale around Black Friday 2 years ago (https://14cyiuhvcgv.com/leatherman-juice-cs4-xe6-multi-tools-last-drop/%3C/a%3E ), plus things like the Klein linemans pliers that I purchased last season to test/vet (https://14cyiuhvcgv.com/klein-freedom-series-lineman-pliers-lowes-2024/%3C/a%3E ).
I wanted to send them the Klein Blackout screwdrivers, but couldn’t find them in time. The Milwaukee USA-made screwdrivers seem like a great alternative.
I also added in a Knipex Pliers Wrench 2-pack and Vega bit holders that look like they’re made the same company as Railer’s (https://14cyiuhvcgv.com/railer-bit-holders/%3C/a%3E ).

I’m sure they’ll get a lot of good use out of those! I’m not sure what’s he’s using for a tape measure, but I’m a fan of Milwaukee wide blades. A little more niche, but a swivel bucket seat on a 3.5 gallon bucket might be nice for making up boxes. Maybe even a selection of markers. He’ll appreciate whatever you get him!
Stuart
I figure he already has a tape measure – he is (recently was?) an apprentice – and so he’s got the basics. Those are good ideas though!
We recently had the water meter replaced, and the tech sat on the open end of the bucket as he did it. Bucket seats seem very underrated.

They definitely are underrated! It’s a newer item for me; I always used to just sit on an upside down 5 gallon bucket before. When you’re doing residential door hardware, it puts you at the perfect height unless you’re extremely short. After a few hours of hardware, though, the rim would be cutting off my circulation pretty badly. The seat works perfectly and the swivel is a nice feature. I’m a big believer in them now.

I’m more a plumber than an electrician – but was always surprised that there are so few non-conductive tape measures available for electricians. I suppose that they are mostly using the tool much as a carpenter would – to figure out where to drill, length of wire runs etc. So, the tape is not likely to come in contact with energized equipment. I would suppose, however, that poking around with a tape measure at full standout – could be deadly if the tip came within the flashover distance of something (like an overhead power line) that was energized.
Here is what Milwaukee sells as an electrician’s tape:

Here’s what I could find as a “non-conductive” tape:

While I’ve never purchased a swivel bucket seat, I have come to love the buckets that my pool chlorine tablets come in. The unique thing about these buckets, at least to me, is the quick disconnect feature of the lid. Along the outer rim of the lid is a small red pull tab that releases the eighth turn screw on lid. These buckets, which come in several sizes (3 & 5 gal that I use), are great for storing large parts and accessories. I also use them to sit on at times, but for extended sitting I would add a towel or two.

Thank you. I read the HD deals this morning but didn’t realize the rotary tool is brushless. Used your link to make the purchase!

I wanted to buy a cordless Milwaukee skill saw but discovered they are not made in the USA. Are you aware of any power saws made in the USA?
Stuart
As far as I am aware, their corded Sawzall reciprocating saws are still made in the USA. I don’t know of any cordless saws that are made here.
