I just posted about another retailer’s $25 off $100+ coupon on Milwaukee Tools, and wanted to price-check something at Acme Tools.
And then I saw a notice – save up to $30 with a new promo that’s only valid today, 11/17/20.

Hmm.
The $25 off $100+ promo is better on items under $200. And while the other retailer has free shipping on $99+ orders, Acme Tools’ free shipping threshold is $199.
$30 off $200+ is a little better than $25 off $100, for items and orders over $200, but is it worth posting about?
But wait… let me check on something…

HOT DEAL: Milwaukee M18 FUEL Brushless Impact Driver + Packout Tool Box Kit (Holiday 2020)
Here’s a holiday season promo – the Milwaukee M18 Fuel impact driver, next-gen battery, and Packout kit. This is a $199 special buy that is excluded from other promos and coupons.
It’s got to be excluded from this deal, right? But it’s not – it’s eligible!!
It works! And I also added a Shockwave screwdriver bit to kick the order total above $200 to get the $30 savings.
Shipping is a flat $6.49 on orders under $199. As with the other retailer, the shipping consideration looks at the net after-discount order total.
What about other special buys and promos, such as Milwaukee ratchet and socket sets?
I have been meaning to write about these Milwaukee ratchet and socket sets. While they don’t come with Packout organizer tool boxes – although there are other versions of these sets that do – they’re a good price.
These sets are promo-priced at $80 each right now, but they look to be eligible for the promo.
Actually, the Packout socket sets, such as the 3/8″ SAE set, isn’t eligible for the deal. However, the larger 106pc 1/4″ and 3/8″ SAE and metric set is. That set is a preorder though, with a February ETA.
Milwaukee’s compact low-profile Packout organizer is discounted right now and eligible, but the full-sized Packout organizer looks to be fixed in price at its current discount.
Some promo-priced items allow for double-dipping on the coupon right now, others don’t.
Does it work on the Milwaukee M18 brushless impact driver kit – the $99 holiday season special? YES! But the M12 installation driver kit that’s the same price as the bare tool right now? No – that’s price-fixed at $179.
I can’t check everything, but what I’m seeing so far is that this is a VERY GOOD deal that works on lots of items I wouldn’t expect it to.

The promo is only valid on 11/17/2020.
This Milwaukee Tools coupon offer even looks to work on all of the new Pipeline tools that are available for preorder, at least all of the ones I checked.

Works on some/most Bosch items also. Going to start checking for what I might buy now if the codes work. BOSCHGIFT is the promo code for that.

That $330 off $200 is enticing. Good thing for them is only a one-day promo. 🙂

Thanks, *fixed*
Can you imagine!?
Takes me back to Sears $5 off $5 days.

Menards goes insane and offers a $2 rebate on their $1 mugs now and then.

I’m loving all the coupons coming out in this upcoming holiday season. With all of the deals out there, what would be a good recommendation for a homeowner combo kit (probably the 4 tool sets) I have been leaning toward Milwaukee brushless (not Fuel). I do remodel projects here at home, but by no means use them as a professional would. I am not vested in any cordless brand other than my M18 chainsaw. I’ve been looking at the DeWalt also lately. Any other combos I should be looking at? Thanks!!!
Stuart
What’s your budget?
The Makita 6-tool combo set is one of the better values – $299 via Acme Tools, might be available via Amazon at the same price later in the season, but right now it’s only sold through a 3rd party.
The more preferences you have, the easier it is to narrow down a short list of options. Otherwise, keep an eye on our posts. By the time Black Friday runs around, I usually have a cordless power tool combo kit roundup. It’s too much effort to do all at once.
I wrote about the larger Dewalt combo kits, but not yet the lower priced kits, as they’re often somewhat compromised with tools I generally wouldn’t select over other presently available alternatives.

There’s a ton of options already, and promos like Home Depot’s “buy a Dewalt combo kit, get 2 free tools” promo give you some freedom in selecting your kit components.
For Milwaukee brushless but not Fuel… there’s a hammer drill and circular saw combo kit, but not eligible for the added coupon. To that you could add a promo impact driver kit ($99) and eligible for this promo, but the reciprocating saw would be an add-on that’ll push the price higher. Or you can opt for an M12 Hackzall if it would suffice.

For a home-owner you might consider looking at the Milwaukee M12 Fuel series. The M12 Fuel has the power of 18V tools from the past. I recently completed a remodel that required demo of existing space and the construction of a new full bathroom. Except for my corded circular saw I used the M12 drill, impact, Hackzall, and screwdriver for everything. The M12 Fuel impact kit is $99 right now and is a great first tool. I bought one during a summer promotion on a whim and fell in love with it and then started buying more. It is an addiction.
I used to have Dewalt, Milwaukee, and Bosch 18V tools (which are all fantastic), but I sold them all because I don’t want to carry and hold the extra weight anymore at my age. They are also fantastic for working inside cabinets, appliances, vehicles, etc. The 18V (20V MAX) tools are more powerful, but I find that I don’t need the extra power for anything around the house unlike what a commercial contractor might need. I do have some corded tools for really heavy duty work (e.g. big demo, concrete drilling, etc.)
The M12 brushed tools are OK, but are really underpowered. I had a set and sold them too.
Some people don’t like the M12 ergonomics because of the fat grip. It is an acquired taste. The trade-off is worth it to me.

I took advantage of the Acme sale this morning – pre-ordering a M12 Rover floodlight and 2 M18 power sources as Xmas gifts – $30 off. Initially tried the ToolNut deal – but preorders were excluded.
I also got an email that Toolbarn is doing a BOGO deal on Bosch blades – today only:

This is very similar to what I went with – though I only got one powersource and slipped in some of the Packout toolbox trays (which I didn’t know about for the medium) and some other sundry.

Fleet Farm has a $50 gift card if you buy $300 worth of Milwaukee or Dewalt any combination no restrictions, appears to work online, and free shipping over $79. Works in store for sure.

You loose free shipping by applying promo code!
Stuart
Free shipping requires $199+ order total net, and so that’s after coupon.
I usually look over my shopping list and pick up something from another brand (preferably also on sale), or something that’s otherwise excluded from the deal, to push my order back over the threshold.
I prefer it when retailers use the before-coupon order amount for shipping calculations, but it all depends on the software they use.
fred
Some also seem to calculate the tax on the before coupon amounts with shipping thrown in. I’m never sure if that’s just bad programming, if they actually give that amount of sales tax to your locality – or if its just a way to increase their profit margin
Tom D
Some localities require tax to be charged on the pre-discount price (and I think this is why sometimes you have to pay tax on a “free” phone). Claiming to collect tax and not remitting it can get a business in a hell of a trouble real fast.

Thanks for tip,saw this on IG.
And ordered with 30 minutes left in the day!
Stuart
Thanks, and glad to help!
There’s a small chance the deal will be extended, but it’s never predictable as to which deals they do that for and which they don’t.
