One of my favorite tools is a pair of black oxide camo side cutting pliers from klein by far the best I ever used the cutting edge could cut a human hair and the black oxide finish has kept them rust free best tool I’ve ever owned. I currently use an old buck for skinning wire but the handle has broke so I repaired it with electrical tape looks like a great knife all around would love to add it to my tool box
Tim K
Looks good for landscaping and gardening. This way my nice folder will stay nice. Speaking of knives I keep a hawkbill spyderco tasman folding knife in my tool pouch. As a electrician I use it for skinning romex cable and other types of wire. http://www.amazon.com/Spyderco-Tasman-Salt-Rust-Plain/dp/B003788U9K/ref=pd_sim_sg_14
it is a little pricey, but is made well and has stood up to a few years of hard use, i have been know to ream pipe with it as well. great little folder that is handy, because of the very fine point. i scrape paint out of screw heads with it as well.
Kimber Janney
Looks like a great knife for camping!
walt g
I already have the robust version of this knife I love the thing and would be psyched to have the thinner stainless version
Brian
Interesting–I don’t think I’ve even heard of these. I mostly use folding knives, but only for light tasks. I’m always wary of putting too much stress on a folding knife, so this might be a nice add-on to my toolkit.

Awesome giveaway! I use 2 kind of blades daily, my fastback for thin sheets of copper and fixed for thick panels of insulation.
Joseph
Being a new apprentice as a building engineer, I am required to buy my own tools. This is tough to do on apprentice scale, and this knife looks like it would be a great addition to my tool collection that I am slowly building.
John S
I have been using my Milwaukee fastback almost daily and am loving it! I am very impressed with how comfortable it is to use and love the fact I can flip the blade out. That being said, one can never have too many knives 🙂
Marco
Hi got the Milwaukee Fastback II 5 months ago and love it. I keep it clipped on me daily no matter what task I am on. I’ve dropped it a dozen times, holds and locks in blades perfect, love how it can hold an extra spare blade. It flips open just like it did the day I got it.
Curtis
I would love to get my hands on a stainless mora to take on fishing trips.
DanO
My current knife is an old Kabar from 1974. I feel like I may be due for an upgrade by now’

First off, thank you for doing this giveaway. I typically carry a Case Peanut (yellow delrin with CV blades) and a Victorinox Classic, which cover the vast majority of my suburban needs (mostly cutting packages open). They are compact, riding almost unnoticeably in my pockets anywhere knives are allowed, and are inexpensive enough to replace if the need arises (to say nothing of their outstanding warranties). For certain other tasks (yard work, breaking down boxes, etc.), I’ve recently been looking for a complementary fixed blade that was robust and economical. I’ve never owned a Mora, but have read quite a bit about what outstanding values they are, and would love to see for myself. The stainless model in black would be my choice. Thanks again.
James
Hey Stuart, I want to win this knife to carry with me in my daily bag. I’m a constant reader of your blog.
John
My son Georgie is 7 and one of the things that I have been wanting to do is go camping out in the wilderness but unfortunately hes still a little young for that. So in the interim, we are going to set up a tent in our backyard and toast marshmallows in our fire pit!. I would love to teach him proper knife safety and care, how to whittle and how to skin a fish. He knows from him and I watching Dual Survival that Cody is a firm believer in Mora blades and thats the one I would like to get him!
Irving Krasnoshteyn
Speaking of adding this to a tool bag, i need a new tool bag! And this knife would be a great addition to it. My formerly trusty LLBean bags zipper broke and i’m looking for a new duty backpack now. I was looking at the new Klein backpack but it looks like it won’t hold a drill and spare battery/charger because of all the pockets filled with other tools. I prefer a backpack because its so versatile. What would you recommend?
minh
i have one of these knives in each if the vehicle tool bag. one in the tool box at home too and I would reach for a mora before a utility knife.
george
looks like a great knife. I may look into one later though I already have to many
knives at my bench and on me anyway. not entering, just hope you just choose well and the recipient appreciates it..
Mike Montgomery
I have not used a Mora fixed blade knife and want one for the truck/camping.
I carry a Kershaw folder and use it every day. It is a cheap made in China Kershaw, and I have really abused it. (Vapor II). The steel holds an edge ok. The blade is a little sloppy in the frame now and all of the finish is gone. This is about 2 years of hard use. I usually sharpen once a week -not because of the steel but because of the had use.
Katie L
My husband loves knives, he has even made a few of his own. He has not had one like this and I know he would be stoked to receive it!
Doug
I have never really used a fixed blade knife. I’d love to try out a nice one.
Jason
This would be great to keep in the Jeep for whatever needs doing.
Sebastian Z
I never owned a Mora knife, I would love to check one out. They look like they are good quality knives.
Ross Jones
A good knife is a very useful tool. You can never have too many knives.
Tomas
I’ve heard how great the Mora knives are, but I just haven’t bit the bullet and splurged on one yet. I’d love to win one.
Additionally, although some people might scoff, but I do harware support in an office & use the “Victorinox Midnite Manager” literally almost every day.
http://www.amazon.com/Victorinox-Swiss-Midnite-Manager-Sapphire-/dp/B001S0FQ1Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1384358778&sr=8-1&keywords=victorinox+midnite
This tiny thing that lives on my keychain has a Pen, LED light, bottle opener, knife, screwdriver & scissors….. I challenge you to find a more practical tool under 2″
*Knife – not large, but not serrated so it’s great for opening boxes if you can’t remember where you put your box cutter – happens all the time to me.
*Scissors – functional in a pinch for cutting small stuff string, tape, paper, etc.
*LED light – flashlight is just bright enough to help find that small screw that fell on the floor, or reading a switch label behind a desk etc.
*Screwdriver – Not my first choice but a whole lot better than nothing, or having to run 4 floors down back to your desk & then back up for one.
*Pen – Standing in line at the post office and need to fill out a form? Can’t find a pen? Right here baby!
*Bottle Opener – common now, how many times are you outside in the summer and everyone’s like “who’s got the bottle opener?” Or “here I’ll just use my teeth or smash the bottle against a rock”? I love my teeth, and now I get to keep them!
Best of all, because it lives on your keychain so it’s always going to be there for you, never talk back, work without complaint, and look good doing it!

I like those Mora knives. Have an older model, use it around the house and in the field (camping, hiking). Well balanced, reliable, easy to maintain.
For EDC I have some Victorinox SAKs. Climber is the one I prefer, I can leave all other small gadgets at home (SwissTech 19-in-1, Coast Fishing Multitool knock-off). I usually carry these for the scissors and screwdrivers but the Climber has them all. Plus the hook, which I use a lot for carrying plastic groceries bags and untieing knots. Got a mini SD inserted in the corkscrew and a pin in the scales, more than covers all the tasks around the office.
Thanks for the offer, I’m sure the winner will appreciate it!
Joshua Latham
I would love to have one of those. I have the Mora #2. One of these would be great because it kind of has a guard and mine doesn’t. I have to be real careful if my hands are wet. And those knifes are SHARP. I love the Skandi grind, easy to resharpen and the blade holds an edge, if I needed to I could shave with it.
Dave L
Perfect for the bugout bag I keep in my trunk!
Corey Griffiths
Wow!! looks nice. Dont have any knives.
Mike Ashley
Great knife, would love to have one for camping.
Josh T
Looks like a great, GREAT fixed blade!
Jason
My son turned 9 this year and he has started doing more outdoors activities with me like fishing, camping, hiking, and hunting. He has a few pocket knives, but he doesn’t have a fixed blade yet. If I were to win, I would give this knife to my son for Christmas.
Tristan
I’ve been wanting to replace an old kitchen knife that I use for landscaping/gardening with one of these.
John Coulston
Those knives look badass. I’ve never seen them anywhere but on your site. It honestly looks like a great knife. I don’t have much knowledge about quality knives but have been practicing sharpening my cheap pocket knives.
Grady Bookout
How do I abuse a knife, let me count the ways. It would be nice to own one that I can’t. The orange stainless one. My favorite knife is a two blade craftsman that is about 35 years old. I’ve used it for everything from weeding to whitteling. Unless it has a nick, I rarely sharpen it, just stroping makes it razor.
martin seeley
It reminds me of the Gerber I had during the Viet Nam War!!…..I never felt unsafe with my fixed blade knife on me….would love to have that feeling again. Love to have the knife.
Eric Carman
I would love to add this knife to my camping equipment. That way I can pass down the Buck knife that was my grandfather’s to my son soon.
Patrick Hawley
Well, I received the email about this contest this morning, and not 5 minutes ago my brother–with no idea that I had (for the first time) just heard about the Mora knife–slapped his into my hand and began extolling its virtues.
I would like to win a Mora knife so that the next time he whips his out, I can whip mine out too.
Ola
The Morakniv is made in my hometown here in Sweden, the Morakniv (Knife from Mora) are manufactured in the small town of Mora, the town have 20’000 inhabitants and it lays about 4 hours north west of Stockholm. The tradition to make knives in this area goes back hundred of years, and the company behind the Morakniv brand was founded in 1891 by a Swed returning from having immigranted to america. I do belive that some Moras are not made with Swedish steel, laminated carbon steel that are used for some knifes are apparantly a pretty rare product and have to be imported from I belive France. It sure is a quality product and I prolly know some of the guys that made the knifes the lucky winners will win.
Mel Caisip
We’d love a Mora stainless! I used one in my bow-making class, and my 6-yo son used one in his archery camp! both times the knife stood up to the abuse of unskilled hands.
Steve Renforth
I am a custom knife maker who loves Bushcraft! I have heard a lot about the Mora and have always wanted to own one. I’m interested in seeing how good they are. I have made some knives similar to the Mora, but would like to get my hands on a real one to compare. Hope I win!
Sincerely,
Steve R.

The only knife I have in my toolbox is an ancient, folding knife I have had at least since the early 80s! I would love to upgrade to a Mora!
Jeff
I would like to upgrade the fixed blade knife that I use for remote wilderness hiking. Thanks for the opportunity!
Jeremiah Bray
I would use this for camping and hunting, I mainly carry folding but am interested in trying out a nice fixed blade
Daniel
Hi from Poland 😉
I want to buy mora knife from very long time to use on campings with my sons, and travels in mountains (i live in Subcarpathia). This is very good knife for that works. If I will win this knife, this will let me save much money.
I use for every day Victorinox CyberTool 29 and Olight i3s. There are great tools, that help me in work, as IT administrator (pic. http://www.militaria.pl/converter?heightMax=900&widthMax=1200&img=/upload/reviews/6409/45376/image2.jpg)
Sad, that only US users can get that giveaway.
Ps. Sorry for my eng.
Jerrick
I’ve never used a Mora knife but have heard/read many rave reviews about it. I’d use it primarily as my truck knife. One never knows when he will need a knife; I find it handy to keep a fixed blade in my vehicle and a folder in my pocket.
My favorite tool right now is probably my Bosch 12v impact driver. I find that 12v is sufficient for my needs around the house. The 12v is small, handy, well-constructed, and powerful. I’ve used it on numerous projects around the house: it excels at driving screws, driving smaller lag bolts, using it as a nut driver, and for drilling holes one inch or less. I’ve installed several wall-mounted TV stands with this item. I built a shop workbench with 3 inch screws and lag bolts. I used it to attach re-purposed cabinets in my garage with Spax screws (excellent screws, by the way. Thanks for the heads-up on these!).
The trigger is very responsive and sensitive. I can accurately assembly my kid’s toys (i.e. play kitchen, scooters, etc.) without fear of over-torquing them.
Several times I’ve come close to purchasing the Bosch 18v impact driver. Each time, I try to think of a scenario where the 12v version did not have enough umph. I haven’t faced any such scenario and so I have not purchased the 18v version.
In sum, the Bosch 12v impact driver is my favorite tool. Pair it with an L-Boxx (or two) and it is a very capable package.

I had a Mora years ago but somehow it disappeared. Someone borrowed it from an open tool box and has yet to return it. I have been using a low cost Swiss Army pocket knife since and a super sharp fixed blade would be an upgrade.
Really enjoy the blog, keep up the good work.
adam
I’d love one of these knives for a beat around knife for outdoor/yard work. Everyone that has one seems to love it.
I recently picked up a CRKT Ripple at Lowes. I have to say that for $30 it is one sweet blade. Super sharp out of the package, nice easy opening and fits great in your hand. I highly recommend buying one for an everyday carry knife.
Chris
Looks like a great knife to carry for work!
sunny via
Mora knifes can’t be beaten/ for the price you get a whole lot of knife. I bought one years ago ,I was overwhelmed by the quality and durability of the knife. I have bought other Mora products>spoke shave, whittlers, same quality with an extremely affordable price. both of my children are currently deployed with the U.S.Marines in the sand. I purchased 2 more Moras for them to have in the sand. I feel secure that they will have a sharp blade when they need it.
Bill K
With deer hunting season just starting, the mini review of the Mora knife makes me believe this knife might be a great tool for the hunter. (As great as this knife may be, I presently don’t have a need, so I’ll pass on this give-away, hopefully so another reader and outdoor enthusiast will benefit.)
Jeremy Wagler
Would love a Mora! Read about these online. Campers, outdoorsman, DIYers, survivalists, preppers and everyone in between seems to like them. I can understand why. Who doesn’t appreciate a good knife at a good value? As far as tools I use everyday, that would have to be some Armstrong wrenches. Unfortunately, they are not mine. They belong to the factory I work at and must stay there. I use them on the machines I run. Those things are tough! They get quite a daily workout between me and the second shift guy, and keep asking for more! I highly recommend Armstrong wrenches to anyone that’s looking for good quality wrenches that can withstand some abuse. Plus, they’re made in USA!
John
I’ve heard that Moras were great bushcraft knives. I’ve always wanted one to start learning that kind of stuff.
Turner Levack
I have never had a mora, but always wanted one. they seem like they would be handy for just about any cutting task. something I could use everyday.
Marvin
I’m not familiar with Mora, but from what I’ve read, it’s a keeper.
I’m sure that it would make a great companion to my Leatherman Wave.
tom
Always wanted to try a Mora, just never got around to getting one.
I use various knives at work as a trim carpenter; among them is a Spyderco Gayle Bradley, but that one’s a bit pricey to chance having stolen on a job site.
Thanks for the chance to try something new.
Maybe this’ll be my introduction into what I hear are great working knives.
Kevin
I’m a young guy building out his first workshop and have my first baby on the way in 2 weeks. I’m currently building out the tools and materials to make a nice toy box for her that will last years so she can eventually use it with her children.
I’m inspired by a bench that my grandfather made and was passed down to me from my mother, who loves to see me taking an interest in this stuff because her father passed away before I was born.
So in memory of him and for future memories, I hope to continue building out my skills and tool box.
matt
Im currently in the process of building a teardrop camper for my family and a fixed blade knife of that quality would be a great addition. It is so hard to find a decent quality knife these days.
As far as tool reviews, I use a Bosh 12v li-on drill/impact driver set all the time. It has a great recharge time as well as the batteries last forever! I constantly get comments on how powerful and lightweight it is. I have actually used the impact driver to pull 1/4″ threaded rod and bolts apart by accident by over tightening it!
matt
My favorite tool is the Benchmade 556 Mini Griptilian. Its made in the USA and is the perfect size for carrying everyday.
Joseph C
Inspired by a friend, I have JUST started carrying a folder with me all the time, and find myself reaching for its solid feeling over my utility knife’s flimsy blade frequently at work as a finish carpenter. I would love to try out one of Mora’s knives that are truly made for doing work!
Brian
I like a knife with a carbon steel blade far more than one with a stainless steel blade. The carbon steel takes a nice keen edge much more easily than stainless and the edge doesn’t fold over easily like a stainless blade. I’ve heard so many great things about the Mora knives that I’d just love to give one a try.
Alex
I need a new knife for hunting season! My Gerber is getting old and worn down.
Peter H
I still have the clunky old camping knife that I got when I was a kid. For sentimental reasons, I’m not looking to replace it. But I have a college-aged daughter who is starting to get serious about camping, and this would make a nice Christmas present for her.
Matthew Blain
I thought I had already posted, but I guess not so here goes. I would love to try out a fixed blade knife. All I’ve ever used are large folding blade types. My current model is a S&W that the previous owner of my Jeep left under the seat when I bought it. It’s a great knife and very easy to keep sharp/carry around, but the handle is much larger (overly thick -and I have large hands) than I would have expected for a folding knife from a company of such caliber.
Chris L
I would love to have this knife by my side when i’m in the field on our construction projects.
john figlioli
I would be completely new to this kind of knife, i would call it an upgrade to what use. I have been using a pocket knife with 2 blades, and i have been thinking about this kind of knife i heard Mora makes good knives
William
How would I use it? I carry a knife every day(a couple of them actually) that get used for everything from slicing an apple to cutting seat belts and other auto interior related items to splinter removal. A good knife is the best tool you can carry.
My favorite tool is a huge home made wooden hammer that I got out of a junk car. The hammer head is probably 6 inches in diameter and weighs about 3 pounds. Anything that needs to be put together or taken apart without damaging it gets to meet this wooden monster. It even comes in handy for bug squishing dutys.
Matthew Sumner
Would love to try a Mora knife. Would be great to keep in the truck with my to go tool kit.
crewchief888
i never got around to replacing the fixed blade i lost a couple years ago, and i’m really starting to hate digging in my pocket for a folder when i need a knife.
James
This knife looks really functional and a great value. I’d use it for tasks I wouldn’t dare use my prized Buck Pathfinder for.
knightworthy
“Don’t have one, therefore I need one!” One of my favorite and well used tools is my Husky/Craftsman utility cutters. (they both look identical) I used to have the ones that used the special blades but once I found the ones that used the regular utility knife blades I use them most often as replacement blades are cheap and if I am too aggressive and break the blade, I have a fast, easy cheap replacement with new blade. No more hunting for a utility knife with a sharp blade and hoping to make a straight cut through garden hose, small tubing, etc. These work great!
Bill
I currently have a folder for EDC and have been thinking of going to a fixed blade. This looks knife is awesome.
Jerrod
I’d primarily use this knife with various chores while hunting and prepping my hunting spots. Currently use a small schrade.
Tim Conyers
Looks perfect for ice fishing-season starts soon!
MIKE G.
This knife would look awesome on my belt next to my Springfield XD 40. cal.If A mountain lion didn’t die while attacking me (cause I’m not A very good shot) this knife should do the trick.
Jake
Just discovered Mora knives, and while I have more expensive fixed blades, I have been wanting to try one of these as they have great reviews.
Robert juskalian
Nice looking..I want one
Evan S.
I’ve never owned a knife but I’d like one.
Will
That looks like a handy fishing knife
Miles Imamura
This would be a great addition to my bug out bag!
Tammy Drinkard
If i won any of these items it would be awesome for my dad and husband to even wanna look at them and i would say nope dont think so you guys got your own tools lol these are all mine.
mike
in need of a good heavy-duty knife for rough shaping my wood carving projects, this would be perfect
