New Caulk Savers Bead Stix Finger-Savers

Caulk Savers Bead Stix Caulking Tool

Caulk Savers, makers of open-caulk tube preserving plugs, are coming out with a new product called Bead Stix. These Bead Stix (which we think could also be called finger savers, as that sounds better), are simply designed and feature a 1-1/2″ circular foam pad at the end of a 6″ application stick.

Update: Caulk Savers no longer sells Bead Stix. The inventor says they’re now available under his Caulkstix branding, but we cannot find any place where you can order it online or in stores.

There are many types of caulk-beading and smoothing tools on the market, and wet fingertips seem to be the most popular “tools” available. This makes sense, especially since nothing else can beat the price. But using your fingers to smooth caulk, even a gloved finger, can be messy and potentially inconsistent, even with practice.

Caulk Savers Bead Stix How to Use Them

To use Bead Stix, you first dampen the foam pad with water, and then apply caulk. Wipe the caulk with a Bead Stix, twist it to clean corners, and then continue to smooth the caulk. Bead Stix are reusable as long as you rinse them after each application. If you use one with materials other than caulk, you may need to discard it after use.

Expect to find Bead Stix wherever Caulk Savers are sold.

The guy who did our bathroom made a mess with the caulk. He should have used these. I’m trying to smooth it out, but it’s already starting to dry. :/

My name is Charles. Richardson, with Caulkingstix llc .I am the inventor of the caulkingstix. I have a patent application in on the caulkingstix. I have not had an affiliation with Caulksaver for years. The caulkingstix is no longer known as the Bead Stix. So request that you update you your info. And stop displaying our product, the Caulking stix as the Bead stix from Caulksaver. We have no connection at all.

The article was published on SEPTEMBER 2, 2011.

I can find no reference for “Caulkingstix” on the web, except for here, where the product is branded as “Caulking Stix / Bead Stix.” Additionally, Caulk Savers still lists Bead Stix on their site as a current product.

I can update the post, but to do so I must ask for 1) updated imagery showing the new branding, 2) retail or distributor availability information as to where readers can buy the rebranded product.

Finger smoothing or any other type of implement to smooth caulk should be used as a last resort. A fine job can be had by using proper technique. Take your time and always plan the caulk job ahead of time, where to start and finish.
