Rockler Trim Router Table with Router Attached

Rockler recently came out with a new super-compact router table, designed to be used with most popular compact and trim routers, such as the new Dewalt compact router and venerable Bosch Colt.

The router table features a 3/4″-thick 11-1/2″ x 15-1/2″ vinyl-wrapped MDF table surface, a 1/4″ thick x 5/3/4″ diameter acrylic router base that is pre-drilled to fit common routers, and an adjustable fence with bit guard.

After attaching he acrylic base to your router, you clamp the router table to a secure surface, and drop the router right in.

This trim router table will set you back $60, not including a $11 and change dust collection port adapter.

If you’d rather not part with $60 for this, it shouldn’t be too difficult to adapter the design to make a simple compact trim router table of your own.

I’m wondering how this router will fare in table-use.

I also find it interesting how we’ve moved from using shapers (often a pair) in the shop – which was the only option at one time. Now we have a plethora of options 3+ Hp routers undermounted in make-shift tables, store bought tables (some of which cost near;y as much as my original Powermatic Shaper) or table tops – with 2-1/2Hp class routers that are under-table friendly – router lifts, table-top router tables from folks like Bosch etc. – and now this diminutive option.
