Olight Flash Sale August 2021

Over at Olight, they kicked off a new flash sale, and it’s a big one. It kicked off at 8pm ET 8/30, and ends 11:59pm ET 8/31/2021.

Olight Web Test Flashlight Offer 8-30-2021

To start off, Olight recently revamped their website, and they have a new “thank you” type of promo offer to help test things out.

Registered users can log in, and a FREE i3E AAA LED flashlight is automatically added to your cart. The i3E is a compact flashlight that retails for $11.95. If this is all you want, shipping is a flat $5.

And, they also give you $10 coupon off any product.

Update: A better idea, if you just want the AAA flashlight, is to add the i3e in black to your order. This light is $9.95. So, you get the i3e in orange and the i3e in black for $5 plus tax. The orange i3e is the free gift, and the black i3e is $9.95 – $10 coupon = $0 order total plus $5 shipping.

Olight Flash Sale August 2021 Flashlight Selection

There are a lot of different LED flashlights and lighting products included in this promo.

  • Baton 3 Flashlight & Charging Pack in White
  • Warrior X Pro Flashlight in White
  • i5T in Titanium Damascus
  • Perun Mini Headlight (and Right Angle Light) in Golden Yellow
  • MCA Charging Adapter
  • Obulb with Silicone Lanyard
  • OPen Pro Penlight with Laser

Olight Flash Sale August 2021 Free Gift Tier

There are also “free gift” tiers where if you spend over $129, $229, or $359 you get free bonus flashlights.

My recommendation? I really like the Baton 3 (the newer version of the SR2 Baton I), and also the i3T (AAA) and i5T (AA) flashlights. The Perun headlamp is also an excellent right angle-style flashlight. Neither are for the light of wallet though, as they’re priced over $50.

This could be a good opportunity to same on something like the AAA i3T flashlight, a popular compact flashlight that also works with NiMH and non-rechargeable lithium battery cells. Instead of $20, the coupon takes $10 off, $5 is added for shipping, and you end up with the i3T and an i3E freebie for $15.

Olight offers free shipping in $49+ orders.

White seems to be a brand new color option for Olight, which is why they have so many of the flash sale models feature it.

The golden yellow Perun Mini also looks interesting, but I don’t know how I’d feel wearing something like that on myhead. Then again, I use my Perun Mini test sample handheld 99.9% of the time.

Note: I had difficulty checking out with a credit card, but PayPay worked without issue.

Just a friendly reminder that if you’re a huge flashlight fan/nerd like a lot of us, check out the r/flashlights subreddit. Be warned; it’s a slippery slope…

That said, I do like some of the olights I have, but I’m not a fan of the emitters some of them use that have a greenish tinge, nor the proprietary batteries. The i3t, i5t, i3e and perun 2 are awesome lights, though I don’t like the perun 2 as a headlamp.

I actually really like the Baton models, and I don’t mind the proprietary charging interface. I find it to be beginner-friendly and convenient.

The i3T and i5T – and also the i3e – are all good flashlights for anyone not wanting to get into the rechargeable LED flashlight scene. There are also CR123 models, but they don’t seem to be as popular or featured in as many flash sales.

The i3E is the cheapest, simplest flashlight I’ve found that’s actually useful. Bright enough but not crazy bright, and just a twist on-off action that will never wear out. Great stocking stuffers.

    i3t>i5t
smaller and almost as bright and if you feel like geeking out you can find a higher voltage battery that will make it way brighter.
perun mini is solid as a front pocket light.

I like the design of their lights (even own a few), but I hate the operation. All the flashlights these days have a bazillion modes. I only like 2 (on and off). Hate having to press the button several times or long press to dim or brighten. Seems all brands are like this now. Guess I’m old school. Wish some of these newer models would just have a basic on/off button. I only use a flashlight on high. I don’t care that it can runs for tons of hours on low. Who uses low? I use a flashlight because I need to see something. Full bright or off for me. Still looking for the perfect light after years of trying. Some day before I die I hope to find what I’m looking for…sigh

I used to opt for the Brightest light I could find in a carry size. But some of the lights nowadays are just blinding up close.

The ones with “tactical mode” switches allow for instant one-press max brightness as well as other modes if desired.

There are plenty of other single-mode or programmable flashlights out there.

These aren’t too bad. Clicking once goes to your last mode. If you like a particular setting, then it operates just as you like.

You can also push and hold to open on the dimmest, so as not to blind. You can double click to go to brightest.

But again, single click works as you wanted.

I have several Olights. Out of all of them, my go to light is the i5T. I like the simplicity of the tail switch. The issue with both Baton models I have, are finding the switch in the dark and having to cycle through the modes. Not a huge issue. I was well aware of this before I bought them. They certainly have their place and like all Olights, they’re well made and have a solid feel.

See my post above. You only have to cycle if you want to.

This post probably belongs in the Forums but I’m not member and will just post here. SAWSTOP PRICE INCREASE takes effect tomorrow Sept 1st. Get your orders in today. Sawstop wont acknowledge this but their dealers will. I contacted 3 dealers and all three confirmed the price increase. What I haven’t been able to determine is the amount of the increase. SAWSTOP group on Facebook is saying 10-15% but that is unconfirmed.
