PanaVise’s “Junior” vise is ideal for holding small or delicate objects, and is available with either a miniature or vacuum-clamp base. The Junior vise complements PanaVise’s standard size vise to provide a wide range of workholding capabilities.
Reader IndyEngineer recently mentioned via email that he picked up the Junior vise with miniature base at a bargain via Amazon for $17. Coincidentally, I had ordered PanaVise’s Junior vise with a vacuum base the week before for under $20. Perhaps a comparison review of the two versions is in order…

So Stuart, were you ever able to do a side by side comparison of both models?
Stuart
Not yet. The one with the vacuum base has served all my small work-holding needs thus far. If a worktop is porous, thus defeating the suction cup’s seal, I whip out a plastic sheet, a piece of polished marble, or my granite surface plate.

Thanks for the response Stuart. Any chance on a follow up review of the Panavise 301? I am thinking of buying one, but I am curious if your opinions on this product have changed since the last time you reviewed this item.

I like real vises, PanaVise are pretty bad. However, this requires no mounting, verses an 8 inch adjustable wrench, drill, bit, ratchet and socket.
