Good News: PB Swiss Tools are Back at Amazon

PB Swiss Stubby Bit Holder Screwdriver

PB Swiss Tools are back in stock at Amazon. Well… technically.

A while back, Amazon carried PB Swiss tools, but they undercut other US distributors to help drive sales. It looks like PB Swiss eventually grew unhappy about this, as Amazon cleared their remaining PB Swiss inventory rather quickly.

Now, Count On Tools, a major PB Swiss Tools dealer, has started sending some popular offerings over to Amazon for fulfillment. Fulfilled by Amazon means you get free shipping on eligible orders, and Prime expedited shipping.

PB Swiss Tools are expensive, and free shipping helps to soften that pain, at least a little bit. Although pricey, all of the PB Swiss Tools that I own are definitely worth their full retail costs. PB Swiss makes some really phenomenal hand tools.

It looks the prices are pretty decent, or at least no higher than through Count On directly. For example, the PB Swiss Insider compact screwdriver that I reviewed a while back is priced at $40 via Count On Tools on Amazon, and $40.06 plus shipping on the Count On Tools site.

The stubby screwdriver that I reviewed recently, shown above, is $15 via Amazon with free Prime shipping, and $15.65 via Count On’s separate site.

Seems like a good time to start saving my pennies to buy up some of the PB Swiss tools I’ve been pining for. I’m hoping to eventually pick up a complete color-coded ball hex or stubby ball hex metric set.

Are there any PB Swiss tools on your wishlist?

Right now the selection is limited, but hopefully Count On tools – or Tool Lady – will start sending a broader range of PB Swiss products to Amazon for fulfillment.

Thanks, Stuart; good to know that. Say, just what does the “PB” in PB Swiss actually stand for? Is it what you, me and Elvis think it should mean (peanut butter)? I remember French from high school; “P” might stand for “Petit” (“small” or “little” in English), but I’m stumped by what the”B” is an abbreviation for. Any clues?

    PB Baumann GmbH Werkzeugfabrik

Not sure if they are still available in the US – but I have a set of their taperd reamers that come in handy.

Stuart–I checked Amazon to try to find the $15.00 offer, but no luck. There was one seller in Japan at around $43.75 +$1.77 in shipping. Did I miss a special offer at Amazon with a limited quantity offered at that lower price?

Looks like ToolGuyd readers bought out the maybe 2 or 3 that Amazon has on their shelves for Count On Tools.

PB tools are the best in the world. Big statement, but I use them and the design and quality are superb.
