Pelican 30 Quart Cooler

Over at Amazon, they have a “save 25% on Pelican” deal of the day, applying to Pelican coolers, tumblers, insulated bottles, and some cooler accessories.

The deal includes Pelican Elite Coolers in 20 quart, 30 quart, 50 quart, and 70 quart sizes, and also 45 quart and 80 quart coolers with wheels.

It seems that all of the color options are included in the deal.

These Pelican Elite coolers have large latches, self-draining cup holders, non-skid rubber feet, a bottle opener, molded-in tie-down slots, a reinforced lockable hasp, freezer-grade gasket, and 2 inches of polyurethane insulation.

Pelican says their volume ratings are true internal volume specs. The smallest cooler, 20Q, can hold 15 cans or 3 wine bottles, plus ice.

The coolers are made in the USA and have a “you break it, we replace it, forever” warranty.

Buy Now(via Amazon)

Deal ends at 3am ET 5/27/19 unless supplies sell out sooner.

FWIW, I chose Pelican over all of the other coolers due to the latch system. My daughter couldn’t manage the others on her own and I wasn’t about to get up and open the cooler each time she needed a refill.

The ice retention has never been pushed to the limits, but my stuff is still cold on Monday

That’s interesting, because normal Pelican cases have such a brutally difficult latch, I find myself using pliers on them to avoid tearing up my fingers.

The cooler latches look markedly different!

For anyone who missed this, or just wants to step it up a notch, Otterbox has the Venture line Coolers (Made in Detroit) on sale for 25% off on their website today.

Best in class Cooler, easiest to open, manhandled by bears, indestructible… and yes, I own this cooler.

Being from and living in metro Detroit i would be curious to know if Otterbox actually employs people or if it’s a third party contractor. A quick google search found nothing about otterbox having an address anywhere in MI. It’s just trendy recently to be made in Detroit again, from watches to Blue Jeans.

I was about to ask similar. Thought otterbox was from somewhere else.

meanwhile if I was to buy a new uber cooler I would pick the pelican over a yeti I think.

I’m very disappointed that most Yeti is made in China. I don’t mind paying more for genuine quality- but
Chinese-manufactured is more often not at all worth it . I’m very disappointed that Yeti coffee and travel mugs ARE NOT Made in USA yet command a premium USA-made price. Methinks a smart USA entrepreneur could leverage that angle….

@Doc John, I couldn’t agree more. If I’m plunking down $300+ for a cooler it better be made on US soil. Yeti’s margins have to be insane for the money they charge for coolers and their ridiculous amount of marketing. There are tons of USA made premium coolers that can be had for the price of a Yeti:

            Orca
            Pelican
            Grizzly
            Otterbox

Wish I knew anything about coolers when this came out. Desperately searching for a Pelican coupon code for the 80qt wheeled. I just can’t get my head around $520 for a cooler
