The wildly-selling Kobalt mini tool box is now available with a pink camo color pattern at Lowe’s.
The pink version of the mini Kobalt tool box was a huge hit last year for the holiday season, and so Lowe’s brought it back this year in pink camo, and with a slightly higher price.
The pink camo tool box features 2 drawers and a top lid compartment.

As with the other versions, the Kobalt pink camo tool box measures 10.83″ long x 5.91″ tall x 5.91″ deep.
They don’t specify the weight, but the one I bought last year is fairly light and easy to move around.
Price: $21.98
Lowe’s discounted their Kobalt mini tool boxes for Black Friday last year as a doorbuster deal, and the same might be the case this year.
From the countless messages I received last year, it seems that the pink tool box was in short supply nationwide.
If you’re on the fence, wait until Lowe’s Black Friday sales flyer is released, and hope that they’ve set aside some stock for the doorbuster deal. Or buy it at full price now with free shipping on $45+ orders.

Not a fan of pink camo?
Lowe’s has a another new Kobalt tool box with forest camo. They originally advertised a military woodland-style camo pattern, but have since swapped in new images showing the hunting-style camo.

Definitely not as cool, but Menard’s Performax model is on clearance for less than $10. It’s available in any color you want, as long as it’s black.

That’s a very good price if there’s a Menards near you. If not, I’m seeing a >$9 shipping fee. At that point, it’s not much more to pick the color you want.
For many, the color options can determine whether a tool box is YAY or NAH.

I also saw this plus a processing fee of just under $3. Unless you have other items to order this doesn’t seem worthwhile which is unfortunate. I’m planning to wait around for BF. I’d like one of these for precision tools like micro drivers, hooks/picks, and some ifixit plastic pry tools.

Like most of their deals, it really is only good if you have a store local to you. Their shipping fees are high because they ship directly from a store that has them in stock and on a shelf, not from a distribution center (online only or special order products are different). If you order a qty that has to be shipped from multiple stores, you will see that shipping charge increase with every store that needs to ship.
It’s usually not a big deal, but on low volume or clearance items, stores may only have 1 or 2 of an item, and if you are trying to order 6, they need to ship from 3 or 4 different stores, multiplying that shipping fee by 3x or 4x. I’ve had to do it a couple times when I was needing to match some discontinued light fixtures or something.

Stuart. My bad. I bought several of these over the past year or so as gifts. Not camo obviously.
Do all of the two draw versions have a hinged opening top lid?
Stuart
Yes – as far as I’m aware. This is the same tool box, but in pink camo,

They 3-4 foot box on a pallet with the regular colors for Black Friday last year. Dad and Granddads were sorting through them to pull out the pink and white ones. I picked up one blue one and now wish I had picked up a couple more. They aren’t exceptional, but I find it useful.

I almost bought one of these until I stumbled upon the Members Mark 11″ tool box. It has a latch and handle, more usable space, 2 equal size drawers, and comes with a few light duty tools.

Apparently, among the quilting/sewing fans, the two-drawer box is great for keeping tools and spare bits for their Singer Featherweight machines. My wife is considering one for her sister as a Christmas gift, and I REALLY want her to buy the pink camo!

I have 2 boxes (not the Lowes) and have them at opposite ends of a 12 foot workbench. I use them mainly for pencils, pens, markers and refills for the mechanical pencil.
I never could find what for me was the right drawer (workbench) or jar/can to stand them up in. These keep them close at hand, organized…just perfect.
