I had the 3/8 drive ratchet and intensely disliked it to the point I gave it away. It had extremely high back drag. It’s possible it would “break in” after more use, but it was so unpleasant to use I didn’t want to. YMMV, and if you LIKE high back drag it might be perfect for you.

Just a heads-up if anyone needs any: Amazon has a 10% off coupon for many Amana Tool router bits. I have several in my cart ‘saved for later’ and about a third of them are showing this coupon.

You might want to comparison shop at RouterBitWorld. They often have better prices and may not apply sales tax:

I have a variant of those Fiskars grass shears, without the 36″ handle.

I would not recommend them since they are not robust; if you encounter a patch of thick grass they just won’t cut. Any set of $30 grass trimming shears is more powerful, and cuts far more quickly, than manual grass shears. I’m baffled by the glowing reviews for this tool on Amazon.

The only potential benefits I see with the Fiskars long handle shears are:
    – You don’t have to bend down.
    – If you need to be very careful about what you are cutting, manual shears are safer than a power trimmer.

Agreed, I have personnally used that Fiskars long handle and after 15 minutes, the squeezing action take out all your hand stamina.

Fiskars has another model powered by both arms, so less tiresome:

Every one of the Fiskars products I’ve bought in the last several years has broken. The have a “lifetime” warranty but it takes months for them to ship a replacement. When you finally get the replacement, it will have the deficiencies as the original one.

For anyone that works with pneumatic tools, or generally can use another set of wrenches, I highly recommend any variation of brand of these thin wrenches.

    https://www.amazon.com/DURATECH-Super-Thin-Wrench-8-Piece-Rolling/dp/B08CVDSVSK

I use them the most for tool swaps on my die grinders, but they come in handy on lots of limited clearance projects like bicycle hubs as well.

I thought about buying the Anker 67W GaN 3-Port compact USB charger when I noticed the price scrolling through Prime Day deals this morning.

The Motorola 68W turbo charger that includes the USB C cable is $30 on Lenovo’s website and I’ve been meaning to order one after buying the 2024 Motorola Edge back in January when I couldn’t put off replacing my old phone any longer.

The Anker having two USB C ports for only $5 more than the Motorola 68W turbo charger at the moment is tempting but with it not having a cable with it the Anker is one I would use for other devices and a backup charger to take while traveling.

I’m definitely going to buy the Pony 4 pack corner clamp, more than likely two sets of them after seeing you posted the link Stuart. I probably wouldn’t have noticed them others on Amazon and they’ll get used frequently in my wood shop.

Anker has so many chargers that the choices can be overwhelming. I went with the 67W because it’s compact and can charge my devices speedily.

I don’t really need USB-A anymore, but it doesn’t seem to take away from the USB-C ports and is good to have on occasion vs grabbing a separate older-style single-port charger.

They have cheaper single port chargers and larger and heavier higher powered chargers. I’ve found the 67W to be a nicely balanced in-between option.

I wouldn’t get the non-GaN one; it seems too big and bulky.

I balked too. If you miss this, there are bound to be more deals later in the year. Even with the tariffs situation, the price now is less than what I paid during last year’s Prime Day deal.

I’ve never seen those Pony clamps before, but they do seem handy.

The vampliers and engineer scissors look exactly the same, besides the color. Are they made by the same company?

I noticed that many of the Metabo HTP tools have good price reductions. I bought the 12 inch Metabo miter saw from Acme earlier. I’ve had two 10 inch Hitachi miter saws (in different locations.) for over 10 years, both for $99. They have served me well, and were good right out of the box and still are. Now I see the 10 inch Metabo HTP for $99. that’s wild. Probably my most used tool. (except for drills of course). But they have lots of other great deals on Prime today. I have most of my tools, but if not, I’d jump at these, especially the corded ones.

If someone is just starting out they should have a look. For battery operated, I’d always suggest Ryobi for those just starting out because the battery platform will still be around. Heck, I still have a few of the old blue Ryobi batteries. Lead acid, I think, which will work better in the cold than lithium.

I should have mentioned that Metabo HTP indicates it is Hitachi which was acquired by Metabo and they make some of the same tools. Some people might not know that.

Hitachi acquired Metabo, and then sold the Hitachi Power Tools group to KKR, after which Hitachi Power Tools changed their name to Metabo HPT.

Ah, good to know. I’ve always had good luck with Hitachi. So it’s still the same company but a different name, and HPT not HTP, which is a nutritional supplement as in 5-HTP.

Thank you! Sorry – fixed it.

Sorting through the anonymous report logs is a chore, and so I try to use Amazon’s link system to save a little effort but it’s buggy and sometimes copy/pasting fails.

Looking through the anonymous Amazon purchase report log always hurts my wallet and inflates my wishlist a bit. I figure that if I find readers’ purchases to be interesting, so might readers.

I will only buy Victorinox Swiss Army Knife models that have pliers. I use them every day.

I have 8 VSAKs in various models. My EDC is the CyberTool 41.
