You know, I’ve always wanted a pin nailer. There’s something appealing about being able to use teeny tiny 23 gauge headless nails in a project where you don’t want large holes to appear in a finished surface. But I haven’t yet had a real need for one.
Today, 2/5/2016, Home Depot is having a Deal of the Day on a couple of nailers, one of which is Ridgid’s 23 gauge pin nailer.

This pinner appears to be very highly regarded in user reviews. It can handle headless pins 5/8″ to 1-3/8″ in length.
Other common air nailer features include an in-handle air filter, muffler to reduce operating noise, dual-action trigger system, removable non-marring nose pad, and swivelling quick-connect fitting.

I always thought that, when the time came, I would get a Hitachi pin nailer ($84 via Amazon), or maybe Bosch ($119 via Amazon), or a more traditional brand such as Grex or Senco.
But for just under $50, I might be buying this Ridgid pinner before the day is out.

Also on sale today is this Husky mini palm nailer, which can drive any type of hand driven nail.
Basically, it’s a little pneumatic hammer that can come in handy when you need to drive nails in tight spaces. Or maybe you just want to save a bit of elbow grease on a quick task.
The Husky mini palm nailer has a rubber grip to reduce vibrations, and a magnetic nose that helps hold nails in place for more accurate starts.

A couple of brands offer something similar. You can find mini palm nailers from Freeman, Senco, and Porter Cable over at Amazon, and other models too, for $25 to $50.
Milwaukee also offers an M12 cordless palm nailer, for those that don’t want to bother with an air compressor and hose.
There are 2 other products on sale today – a NuMax nailer kit, and HDX nailer kit, but I didn’t think there would be enough interest to mention them. You can check out Home Depot’s Special Buy of the Day here.

I saw these deals earlier they were waving the price tag at me, but I refused to buy I just don’t need them, lol.
I’m waiting for those milwaukee/bosch/dewalt deals.
Farid
Alas, it’s listed as out of stock online and “online exclusive”
Farid
I meant the pin nailer, not the palm nailer.

the Ridgid pin nailer is being pushed out to make room for the coming Milwaukee M18 pin nailer that will be announced soon. Prototypes are already out and about.
Dean
Wait, what?
Chris
I hope this is the case! Ive been holding off buying the AirStrike (and Ridgid versions) in hopes that Milwaukees will be out soon, since I have loads of M18/M12 already.
Dean
Wait, what? . Any truth to this? Where’d you get your info? Toolguys, can you confirm?
Adam
I swear I always visit toolguyd first, but sometimes I venture to other sites

Yes, this is where they got their news from:
https://14cyiuhvcgv.com/milwaukee-cordless-nailers/%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E
The first comment to the original post was by Milwaukee’s president, announcing the 2016 launch. ToolGuyd is the only place I’ve seen any straight-from-Milwaukee-Tool mention of the upcoming nailers.
Stuart
News was revealed by Milwaukee Tool’s president in this post (technically in a comment to the original post):

And I can’t find the email, but a reader sent me a link to this image that someone put up on Facebook:

Yes that was me who posted the link, but I think toolguyd was the best information known that Milwaukee is coming out with cordless nailers.
Richard G.
Agree. Toolguyd is one of the best sources for many different interesting things. For the last two years the first thing I do on my old ipad, is checking the Toolguyd for something new ))
Regarding my link above, it have a full picture of this nailer, just thought to share it with readers.
Stuart
Thank you!
I had the link open in a browser, but I’m sorry I couldn’t find the comment or email to credit you personally for the find.

Why would you think the Ridgid product and Milwaukee’s nailers are in any way related?
Home Depot won’t “push out” a Ridgid air nailer to make room for Milwaukee’s cordless nailers.
Milwaukee tool Steve
Well here are some reasons why it would be pushed out
1. Supply doesn’t meet demand over stock is just sitting their on the shelves, so why not take advantage of it.
2. Rigid pin nailer isn’t the talk of town, since due rigid has come out with some cordless modules.
3. rigid nailers are in the way for some new nailers that will give us much more money in our pockets (such as the Milwaukee cordless nailers coming soon.)
I was going to try to do some resons why the don’t want the pin nailer gone but why else would they put it up so cheap it seems the rigid pin nailer is just in the way.
Zach
Sucks they were sold out so quick.

I used this last year for windows and baseboard trim works. Nail hole is nearly invisible, and with a touch of white silicone, results are impressive.
