Rockwell BenchJaw Vise for $80

Rockwell BenchJaws Vise

Over at Amazon, the Rockwell BenchJaw table-mounted work vise is back down to $80. The deal was posted on SlickDeals, leading to a quick sell out, but you can still order the vise under backorder as long as you don’t need it immediately.

The BenchJaw is essentially a table-mounted Jawhorse that offers similar work-holding functionality in a workshop-friendly package. As with the Jawhorse, the BenchJaw is closed with a foot lever, allowing for hands-free clamping that frees up your hands to better maneuver and position the workpiece.

There is a downside to the BenchJaw, and that’s because the mounting bracket must be semi-permanently attached to a corner of your workbench. If you have the space for the not-too-obtrusive bracket, then the BenchJaw is a fantastic vise for holding large workpieces.

We’ve been tracking this deal for a couple of days, and it looks like it might not be as fleeting as we first thought. The regular price is $130.

Buy Now(via Amazon)

P.S. Since the BenchJaw is currently sold out, you have to order it from the right side of the product page under the other sellers section. There you’ll see the Amazon price of $79.99, along with mention that the product is available for preorder. It’s listed as a preorder item rather than backorder presumably because there’s no ETA for the restocking shipment.

Be careful. I have one, but, when mounting it to my bench, a small flange nut lost it’s flange and rendered the vise useless. It is what holds the vise to the mounting plate and the part is discontinued, so have to go to after market parts. I checked with E-replacement parts and they wanted $18 and change for 2 small nuts. I guess I’ll have to hope nothing else breaks.
