Over at Woot (an Amazon company), Rockwell’s latest Jawhorse portable work support, model RK9003, is on sale for just $100. Shipping is a flat $5 per order.
The Jawhorse is a stable 3-legged work clamp that folds up quickly for transport and storage. Clamping force (up to 2200 lbs) can be applied via the foot pedal for near hands-free operation, and the base can support loads of up to 600 pounds.

Jaw capacity is 37 inches. If you need greater capacity, such as for clamping plywood, Rockwell does make an optional folding plywood jaw accessory ($45 via Amazon) that can handle materials up to 52″ wide. The Jawhorse Sheetmaster is an alternative option that can handle workpieces up to 49″ out of the box, but it’s a bit pricier.

On a side note, I was in Sears recently, and they had their version of this, with the jaw extender that extends to hold a plywood sheet included, for $80. They had a Jawhorse next to it. My impressions were the Jawhorse was more heavily built, maybe for day to day use, while the Sears one seemed sturdy, but not nearly as heavy duty as the Jawhorse.

I try to check Woot’s tool section every couple of days, and if there’s a particularly hot deal someone usually emails in about it.
I regularly purchase new and equipment and am always on the lookout for deals that might be worth sharing. Sometimes I look for deals primarily to interest and benefit readers, but a lot of the time the deals just come to me.
It used to be that I would purchase new tools for personal use, and I tried to only buy non-essentials at sale prices. Now, I regularly buy new tools and equipment, and still aim to stretch my budget as much as possible.
The Craftsman model is a great buy at $80 (we posted about it last month at https://14cyiuhvcgv.com/craftsman-job-vise-work-holding-clamp/%3C/a%3E%29, and at $100 it’s still decent. It’s based off of the work support that preceded the Jawhorse. There are a couple of similar clones on the market, but the Craftsman stands out for including a free jaw extension.
On a tighter budget the Craftsman would work well, but I believe the Jawhorse to be more robust and a little more user friendly. At $100 for the Jawhorse on sale vs. the Craftsman for $100, I would go with the Jawhorse.

I’ll probably wind up getting something along those lines sooner or later. I do a lot of DIY and maintanence work. I user to just work on the floor, bur I noticed as I am getting older, getting back up is taking longer to do, LOL.
Probably not this year anymore, as I already blew my too budget on other stuff, much of which was from links to good buys off of ToolGuyd.

Last year i got the Triton Superjaws from woodcraft, they had them on clearance for $50. It doesn’t have the extension, but it looks almost identical to the Craftsman version with different colors. I love it and use it all the time. I got one for my father in law too. He wasn’t sure what to think of it, but then he used it while building a shed and he was amazed at what it could do.

I have the Ridgid version and the Jawhorse. Both are solid. I do think the Jawhorse is slightly better built.

I have a Jawhorse and the plywood extension. This is a great tool. At this price with shipping at $5 you can’t beat the price. I have used mine for wood projects, furniture refinishing. I have limited space and this folds upand stores out of the way. I’m looking for possible option using the jawhorse as a mitre saw holder.

darn i missed out on this. I almost bought it from lowes when they had it on sale for $139…then I saw this…I am hoping it comes down to $100 again…

It probably won’t drop in price again anytime soon. Possibly in May or June ahead of Father’s Day, or next year around the same time just before Christmas.
