Rockwell Jawhorse on Sale for $100 with Free Shipping

Rockwell-Jawhorse

Over at Amazon the original Rockwell Jawhorse dropped in price to about $125, probably because there’s a new model available. Tack on an instant discount of $25 at checkout and you have a $100 Jawhorse with free shipping.

My feelings on the Jawhorse are pretty clear – it’s a versatile portable work clamp that works exceptionally well. Even though there are plenty of new clones of its predecessor available, the Jawhorse remains a top choice. For $100 it’s an excellent bargain.

The Jawhorse can support workpieces up to 37-inches thick with jaws that exert up to 2,200 pounds of clamping force. It folds up for storage or transport and weighs about 43 pounds.

Buy Now(via Amazon)

$25 off $100+ instant discount is applied at checkout and expires January 31, 2013.

One of the best tools I have ever bought (when you combine it with the Extended jaws to grip plywood sheets). I don’t know what updates that would have made to the new model to improve it, as I thought the original model was extremely well designed.

They probably mean that they are now made in china.

When I bought one in 2010 and paid $179 for it – it was made in China

It seems like there are only minor tweaks, such as how the legs lock into the body, and possibly other small usability improvements borrowed from the SheetMaster.

    Hi Stuart,
Do you think this stand can be used for vise stand? like your 45lb heavy craftsman vise? Thanks.

Possibly, but heavier tasks would require mounting the stand to the floor. Vise stands are typically much heavier and must still be mounted.

It looks like the price went back to $150 for good. $125 after coupon is still a great price. I would say the newer version is a better option, since its base price is also $150, but it doesn’t seem to be eligible for the $25-off discount.

If you’re not in a hurry you can wait to see if vendors start clearancing the original Jawhorse, but there’s no telling if the price will be any better.

I just checked Amazon for the sheet Master and it came up at $199. Where is it $150?

It’s the RK9003 and not the RK9002 SheetMaster that is replacing the RK9000 JawHorse.
