Got the Echo blower today, my wife seems very “appreciative”.

Going to be a good anniversary .

Her appreciation declined when I pointed out how it would fit nicely in the combine cab. Those things are huge dust generators, add a hot bearing and it gets ugly fast.

Hmm, might just have to grab that blower as well, just for clearing dust out of the shop.

For those that’s haven’t tried them the ECHO 58V system is pretty awesome. Or at least the trimmer is. Shame they won’t make a blower vac model – maybe they will one day – it has the power to run a vac.

My wife and I purchased a Ryobi 18 volt trimmer about six months ago. We also purchased two extra battery packs. Both batteries will not charge now. The only one that still holds a charge is the one that came with the trimmer. As far as I am concerned Ryobi trimmers are junk. After this , we will never buy a Ryobi product again. The two batteries together cost around $135.00. If you think we’re going to blow another $135.00 you are dead wrong.

      Wow. That sucks.
That said my Bosch batteries like their tools all offer a three year warranty.
Doesn’t Ryobi or the retailer stand behind their batteries for at least a year?
      No really.

Isn’t there some sort of warranty for that still within 6 months? My dad has had a Ryobi 18v blower (the small ‘air sweeper’ or w/e they call it), and a single line trimmer for years. Each came with a battery, and each holds 15 minutes of run time without issue (enough to work his 3/4 acre worth of sidewalks and bed edging). I hit his grass at least once a month when he’s busy or something, and have been using that same equipment since 2013. Each kit was under $100, and i’m pretty impressed with how well they’ve lasted.

Only saying, that issue may not be common. Especially considering you have a battery that still holds a charge.

Agree with Jim. Those should get replaced under warranty, no problem.

That noted, I’ve used both Ryobi and B&D’s 18V lawn tools, and then switched to Ryobi 36/40V. Sooooooooo much better. I’ll bet the 56V is even better. With lawn and garden, the extra power is really helpful.

That is pretty strange. It should not be the charger since one is still working. Looks like Ryobi has a 2 year warranty, they should definitely be able to replace it.

Even if you’re running them daily it should be fine. I don’t know if its possible to damage them by storing them a certain way? You’re not leaving them outside, are you?

We were using a ryobi set commercially for a couple of years without any issues, ended up switching to 12v. Our M18s seem to last about 4 years of daily use.

I’m sorry for your experience. As a counter point, I have blowers and trimmers, as does my father in law, and they have worked great for over 5 years. I also have about 8 tools with no issues. Two years ago got extra blower trimmer for new yard (40 volt) and they are great so far.

I hope your next solution works as well as ours.

Thats the regular price on the 18v mower kit. It was down to $199 a few days ago, that was a hot deal considering 2x 4ah batteries go for $99.

Trimmer and blower set was cheaper too.
