Home Depot has a better deal on the Milwaukee starter kit.
$199 and includes free M18 tool.
HD is also price matching Lowes for the DeWalt vac.

Thanks! It looks like Acme has the same. I searched before but couldn’t find it; it’s under the 48-59-1852B SKU.

$199 for a starter kit plus free bonus tool is always a great deal.

Anyone any experience with the DeWalt 20v cordless vacuum? I’m interested in it for just car details and vacuuming dash and carpet and such.
Really sick of dragging the shop vac dust deputy hose cart around.

I have it and it’s great for that. Especially with the various attachments. And it’s quite powerful.

As for the vacuum, we talked a bit about it here – https://14cyiuhvcgv.com/dewalt-cordless-vacuum-dcv501hb-deal/%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E

Check your spam folder? I’ve worked with tech support and also tested this myself. Unless we hear from anyone else experiencing the same problem, the issue is isolated to you. If you cannot find the opt-in email, we can look into that next.

Yeah nothing in my Spam. How do I opt in? Gmail has gotta be blocking this somehow?

        • Steve

          Oct 25, 2023

It may not be Gmail. It could be your AV/AM, pop up blockers, etc, etc.
May have to white list anything Toolguyd.

The comment notification emails are through WordPress, and the confirmation email will come from donotreply at wordpress.com .

I’ve tested it with gmail-based email, and it comes through.

If it’s being rejected by their gmail, it’s going to be at their account level, which would be strange. That *has* happened to me before, and it’s a pain to get straightened out.

I’m persisting on my end, but don’t know if the techs helping me can access logs to see if the emails to Chris are being sent. All they can tell me is that Chris isn’t in the email lists.

I needed a small vac for similar reasons and have DeWalt batteries but I never could wrap my head around the form factor on that one. It may be great, not trying to say otherwise. But it just looked like an odd duck to me. I ended up with the Ridgid vac that looks like a dustbuster…it was considerably less expensive and I already had Ridgid batteries. It’s been awesome and I now have three of them- one for inside the house, one for the garage and one for an AirBNB we run. If you already have Ridgid batteries I can highly recommend that one.

The Dewalt 20v is a great little machine, and I use it for everything from quick car cleanup to grabbing spiders off the ceiling. It will absolutely gobble up batteries, and the filter isn’t the easiest to clean but despite those issues it’s become my go-to. I haven’t touched my shop vac in months, and even my other Dewalt vac (DVC581) sits on the shelf most of the time because the DCV501 is so compact and easy to use.

      Killer feedback, thanks everyone!!

No worries about batteries with it, that’s kind of what I want to happen so I know the power suction is there. Buying!!

I added the 20v vacuum to my Acme cart, entered TOOLGUYD code and it says it won’t apply.
    I tried.

Acme seems like a great company, and my few orders there have gone well. But if there’s a problem with your order, their website doesn’t tell you. I tried to buy that Fein Turbo I vacuums I made such a fuss about, but when I placed the order, total silence. No email, nothing in my order history. Turns out my overheated credit card had triggered a daily purchase limit, something I’d never run into before. If I’d known, I would’ve tried again with a different card. But I didn’t know, and I didn’t want to buy another vacuum just in case the first one didn’t go through.

Oh well. It was a great price for what people say is a great vac.

I didn’t get any email at all. I placed the order without logging in first, but I did enter my email and phone.

The customer service lady said they are seeing lots of spending limit or anti-fraud triggers with credit cards. But apparently they aren’t telling customers that’s what the issue is, so we can fix the issue.

Why wouldn’t Acme get in touch with you……ya know, through all that personal sh*t they ask for on an order……to seek another payment.
      Don’t they want people’s money?!

Sometimes errors fall through the cracks. I’ve had similar happen at other retailers before.

I think it’s just a contingency they hadn’t planned for. There was a credit card issue, but the website didn’t report it (the way Amazon does, for instance.)

So just to be clear, the issue is with their website, and it probably doesn’t come up often (though the lady did say they’re seeing lots of that.) Their customer service was excellent, maybe the best I’ve had.

Update: The issue is not just with their website, it turns out. I’ll post an update if Stuart doesn’t.

      UPDATE (in case anybody’s interested)

So I got it straightened out with another phone call. Turns out that customer service rep I called the next day should’ve been able to give me the deal price. Or at least that’s what the second rep says.

Also I should’ve gotten an email of some kind automatically, even just to tell me that there was a problem with the order. That probably happens for most people, but it didn’t for me.

And really, their website should report credit card issues immediately, right there on the screen. Other etailers do it. But at least the lack of reporting is Acme’s standard procedure (apparently), so that wasn’t a screwup (just a less than ideal customer experience, routinely.)

But I still like Acme, and will buy from them again.

So to be clear, the issue is NOT just with their website, as I said. It was also with their customer email system, and also with their customer rep training or something.

Depends on what you’re looking for.

Brands and retailers have a lot of similar special buys every year for a reason.

If you’re looking for something specific, put it on my radar.
