Snappy 5-Piece Essential set

At Woodcraft they are discounting the Snappy 5 piece Essentials kit to $15, today only, 11/4/2015. After $3 shipping this set will only set you back $18. Usually priced $30 at Woodcraft, the cheapest I could find it for elsewhere was $23 with $7.50 shipping.

A few weeks ago Stuart wrote about the Snappy 5pc countersink set. This set is a little different. It only has two sizes of countersink, but it also includes a self centering drill guide for installing hinges, and some driver bits.

This set comes with:

  • 1/8″ x 3/8″ drill/countersink
  • 9/64″ x 1/2″ drill/countersink
  • 7/64″ self-centering drill guide
  • #2 Square x 2″ driver bit
  • #2 Phillips x 2″ driver bit

All of the bits have a 1/4″ hex shank.

The countersinks have straight drill bits, and not tapered ones. Looking at a countersink drill size chart I found over at Jamestown Distributors, in hardwood the 1/8″ x 3/8″ drill countersink combo bit can be used for #8 screws, the 9/64″ x 1/2″ bit for #10 screws, and the 7/64″ self centering bit for #6 screws.

Buy Now (via Woodcraft)

Deal price is valid thru 12:00am 11/5/15, unless supplies run out sooner.

This is a nice little countersinking set for some of the most common screws sizes. While the Snappy 5 piece countersinking set is only $25 for 5 bits, you might not use the smaller sizes that often. If you try to only buy the sizes you need, you’ll probably end up paying a lot more than this set and you wouldn’t get the handy self centering bit thrown in.

They have 9 different sizes of Countersinks with TCT, amazing they are!
They also have 7 different sizes of self centering drill bit guides.
