Stabila Anniversary Level Set 2019 Tool Nut Promo

For a limited time, enjoy promo pricing on this Stabila 4-piece level set (22130).

You know, I’ve never used a Stabila level before. A few years ago, when I was looking to upgrade to a better 24″ level, my most-used size, I was between Sola and Stabila, before going with the Sola. That Sola is a great level, except for the dust or fuzz inside the main vial.

Stabila levels have a solid reputation as being an accurate and durable.

$79 for 4 levels? That seems like a great deal.

Update: The levels appear to be special editions of Stabila’s homeowner levels. They’re still made in Germany, but readers comment that the levels might not be as durable as the builder’s levels.
Stabila Anniversary Level Set 2019

The “1889” Edition Set comes with:

  • Basic pocket level
  • 16″ level
  • 24″ level
  • 48″ level

Vial accuracy is ±1/32″ over 72″ for top reading, and ±3/64″ for bottom reading.

I’m having a hard time finding any good basis for price comparison, but the closest examples I found indicate that this quite the bargain. Well, at least I’m convinced. These look like they could be special editions priced low for this promo, but I’m sold, it looks like a good deal on an introductory set nevertheless.

Compare(Homeowner series 48″ level via Amazon)

I don’t see any obvious expiration date. The levels are made in Germany.

Tool Nut has free shipping over $99, Acme Tools has free shipping over $49. I ordered from Tool Nut, adding some other stuff from my shopping list (Pica pencils) to my order to get free shipping.

I have around 4 Stabila levels and they are great. This looks like an awesome deal.

These are the lower end homeowner grade levels… hence the price.

Yes, these are the low-end levels, not ones I would use on the job. They will be accurate, just not very durable by any means. I really wish they would’ve done the same as they did with their last anniversary levels and take the 196 level and make them a special color with the anniversary date on it.

Thanks! That’s what I thought, but I was only able to find find a 48″ homeowner level. I see the 24″ now.

      24″: $30 at retailers
      48″: $50 at Amazon

These are super cheap lightweight levels. Probably be better buy a good set of Empires for about the same price. Don’t forget, all name brand levels spout the same accuracy tolerances pretty much. AND — those tolerance levels are a fraction of the built-in tolerance within a rough pencil line anyways.

I have a lot of Stabila levels and happy to own and use them, but this set probably wouldn’t last a week or two for standard contracting use.

And lets not kid ourselves – that’s a 3-pc. set. What use is a 3″ level really?

I agree. However, that 3” level has come in quite handy for me. I keep one in my glove box and in a pinch it’s better than no level. Obviously not for critical stuff on the job, but when out and about it works great.

3″ levels are great when you’re working with steel or something that is flat or rigid.

Years ago, when Amazon would just drop the price on stuff for a quick half day, they listed the nice heavy duty handgrip Stabila level 48″ and 16″ level 2-pc set for $48.

What a deal! My two most used levels.

Some of our favorite Satbila levels were their Plate Levels – the extensions and standoffs at the end caps get you around bowed framing the way a plumb bob and a ruler could be used – but with less fussing around.

I’ve been wanting to upgrade my garage sale levels so after reading this I went comparison shopping. I was going to be content with a set of Lowes or Home Depot specials but ended up ordering a set of 5 Kapros. It didn’t just happen, I’ve earned my nickname. I’ll let you know if they disappoint me.

A batch of Husky brand levels sold at HD – were (or still are) made by Kapro in Israel.
Look for UPC bar codes starting with 739632.

      Here is one example:

      https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-48-in-Box-Level-with-Plumb-Site-900-42P-48H/206109404

      UPC: 739632721839

I think that some Kapro production has now moved out of Israel in favor of China
