Streamlight LED Flashlight Deal of the Day October 2018

Over at Amazon, they have a one-day deal featuring several Streamlight LED lighting products.

We’ve posted about Streamlight in the past, usually when there’s a deal like this. Their flashlights are quite good, in my experience, and I have heard good things about their customer service, should you ever need them.

The deal includes a Stylus Pro, their metal-bodied LED penlight, several rechargeable LED flashlights, a 2xCR123A flashlight, and a rechargeable headlamp.

Buy Now(via Amazon)

Deal ends at 3am ET 10/25/2018, unless supplies sell out first.

I’ll probably have some internal debate over the 88062 ProTac model, the one that works with 2x CR123A lithium batteries. I bought a smaller 1-cell version of the light a few years ago, also during an Amazon promo, and like it a lot. A rechargeable battery is better for frequent use, but I like the longevity and cold resistance that lithium and CR123A cells provide.

Streamlight is great stuff. I’ve been using a xenon Stinger at work everyday for the last 12 years. Great light. May have to pick up that pen light. My rayovac led one I bought a year ago doesn’t work well.

I don’t know if I will ever buy an other Streamlight product. We bought six firefighting lanterns for our volunteer fire department, model Fire Vulcan LED. 2/6 chargers were faulty right when we received them. Now, one and a half years later, we had 3/6 lights failing due to battery failure. We got new batteries under warranty, but having so much trouble with those lights I think I am going to take a look at other brands for my future lighting needs.

Our FD uses Pelican flashlights which are excellent except for one fatal flaw. They draw a small amount of current even while off so you may go out on a call and discover your flashlight is dead even though you haven’t used it in weeks. Look for a real mechanical on/off switch and make sure it works easily with all of your gloves.

The Pelican has a nice feature that separately lights up the area in front of your feet without having the front beam on.

        MtnRanch,

Thanks for posting that, that’s a great feature!
Will keep that in mind for future flashlight purchases at my FD.

Awesome! Added the little headlamp, the PT 2L-X USB and HL5-X to our tons of existing Streamlights.

Don’t be fooled, these prices aren’t anything special. I bought a Protac 2l-x last week for less than this sale deal. I’ve been watching the HL5-x for a few weeks, this is the same price it’s been for quite a while.

      That’s possible.

I looked at the Stylus Pro, saw that it was a couple of dollars cheaper than usual, and made a point to look at the others later if I have a chance.

Still, the prices I’m looking at now look to be appreciably lower than at other dealers.

I didn’t suggest they are a BAD deal, just that it’s not really a GREAT deal.

Amazon prices have consistently been better than other retailers I’ve seen for Streamlight products.

I have a protac 2L and love it so much. It’s incredibly lightweight but still seems to be well built. I bought mine from a local army surplus store over 5 years ago and it’s still going strong. I really wish it was rechargeable but it’s still incredible!
