Techni-Tool is one of those companies that I always seem to come across when I search for new tools. They had a good price on an item I needed, so it was time to give them a shot.
Techni-Tool specializes in electronics tools – soldering equipment, ESD-safe accessories, screwdrivers, mini pliers, tweezers, etc. It looks like they’re more setup for commercial orders, but I had no problems placing a small order with them.

Their online catalog was a bit difficult to work through, so I much prefered to browse their Amazon storefront and paper catalog that I had in front of me. One thing was certain – Techni-Tool has a very nice sized catalog with many hard to find tools and accessories.
When I first requested a catalog, I received an email from a regional sales representative. I ended up placing my order with him directly. I sent an email with a list of items I wanted, and he sent me a quote. The Hakko soldering station I wanted was backordered, so I asked for it to be dropped from the quote. A new quote was sent out and I called in with my credit card number.
While on the phone, the sales rep answered a few questions I had about the ordering process, shipping, and he also checked the ETAs and inventories of the backordered items I decided not to order.
I ordered the items on a Friday before 3pm and received them the following Monday.
I found Techni-Tool to be an extremely satisfying retailer to do business with. I won’t hesitate to order from them again in the future. I assume that ordering from them via Amazon would be no different than ordering from their online catalog or “request a quote” method.
In short, I liked Techni-Tool’s vast product catalog, decent prices and satisfying level of customer service, but found their website to be way behind the times.
