DEWALT DW088K Self-Leveling Cross Line Laser

Over at Amazon, there are 2 noteworthy deals of the day. SORRY email subscribers! You’ll get this email on Wednesday, hours after they expire. Unfortunately, there’s nothing I can do about the post going up late.

First up, there’s a Dewalt self-leveling cross-line laser, DW088K. It’s on sale for $89, which is lower than its street price of $144-149. The bundle also includes contrast enhancement glasses and a target card. Even if you don’t ever use them, the deal is the significant discount on the line laser level.

John Boos RA03 Maple Wood Edge Grain Reversible Cutting Board

There’s a John Boos RA03 maple cutting board, 24″ x 18″ x 2.25″, on sale today for $70. The “was” price is said to be $94.75.

This seems like it could be a nice… I don’t know, workshop accessory shelf/slab/something. It’s a good-looking maple butcher block that’s too small to build a work table out of, but large enough to where it might be useful.

Hmm, I guess it’s also a good deal if you’re in the market for a cutting board. Does anyone have some ideas about food-safe rubber feet?

It’s listed as weighing 27.5 lbs.

NewAge Products Pro 3 10pc Garage Cabinet Setup in Black and Grey

    Food-Grade rubber feet?

How about fabricating your own using food-grade silicone sealant?

      Hmm. Maybe Sugru? https://14cyiuhvcgv.com/sugru-a-mighty-hacking-putty-for-use-on-tools-at-home/%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E

I don’t like feet on these boards, because they are usually heavy enough not to move easily, and they make it harder/impossible to use the other side, to double the life.

Stuart, You should use CamelCamelCamel to see if a product is on sale enough to be a good deal. Amazon has been found to “adjust” the before prices during a sale.

In this case, it’s a pretty good deal. Best price was $65, but that was a long time ago.

I check there every now and then.

I’ve been tracking tool deals for longer than ToolGuyd has been around. CCC might track prices according to ASIN number, but there’s no context there, and that can be a problem.

Historical prices also lose much of their importance if they’re not cyclic.

Put a damp kitchen towel under the cutting board. It will keep the board from sliding, plus it’s cheap, easy to clean, & reversible.

Tiger Supplies seems to carry all the top brands like Leica, Topcon, Johnson, Stabila:

Thanks Stuart for shortening my link that seemed to flop over the page borders.

BTW – Tiger Supplies is offering 10% off (Thru Halloween) on ADIR Lasers – using code ADIR10. I’m not really familiar with this brand – having used Johnson, Leica, Stabila and Topcon. Our Total Station was a Topcon (like Leica they once made cameras), and we had one of their green rotating lasers that the guys really liked. We also had good experiences dealing with Tiger Supplies.

          You’re welcome. =)

I coded the layout to not break the page when there’s a really long link in comments, but sometimes it still happens.

If I come across a long URL when reading comments, I’ll trim it down on the spot if I can.

Sometimes there’s a lot of tracking bloat, and other times there might be personal-identifying information if it’s email link.

This reconditioned Bosch kit is about as cheap as you’ll find a rotary laser and reciever combination from one of the major brands. It’s a pretty good buy for an entry level rotary laser when you look at whats included (laser, reciever, tripod, grade rod, case).
