This Craftsman-centered giveaway prize bundle comes with 12V Max Nextec tools, C3 19.2V tools, a bonus Irwin stubby screwdriver, and Stanley FatMax 10″ ratcheting adjustable wrench.

The Stanley FatMax ratcheting wrench is… not my thing. But maybe you’ll find it useful.

The Craftsman Nextec tools include a drill, pivoting-head hammer, oscillating multi-tool with long-forgotten blade interface compatibility (sorry!), and a flashlight.

The C3 tools include a drill/driver and impact wrench.

Reminder: Chargers and batteries are NOT included.

Notes:

Some of the tools have been in deep storage. The rubbery grip material might have bloomed and might need a good cleaning.

  1. It would be great to have a 2nd set of cordless tools, I have a vacation property and it would be nice to have a set of tools to leave there so i don’t have to bring my primary set back and forth.

  2. while these probably aren’t as exciting as the Bosch or Milwaukee 12V tools, I’d still be happy to have them. I’m sure they would do everything I would ask for them and then some. Maybe it’s silly, but I’d be pretty excited about the stubby screwdriver-I have a handful of bit-driver type screwdrivers (full size), and a handful of stubby screwdrivers of various types, but I’ve never had one quite like that.

  3. I would probably throw these right in the trash. Hopefully others have had better luck with the Craftsmen Nextec line. :-p

  12. same as #2 and #3, Would love to use these working in tight confines or when you are trying to reach something but the weight of a full size tool would be difficult to control or hold.

    Id also like to try out that wrench, it seems stupid, but if it saves time it is worth it.

  14. I think I’m the only reader on this site who still uses C3 tools regularly. My current C3 drill’s chuck is starting to get worn down so I was thinking of moving to another system, but this would save me from doing that for a couple years. Never used the Nextecs before, but I’m sure I would find a use for them.

  16. I have a few of the Nextec tools. The flashlight and multi-tool are awesome, the drill is junk. I don’t have the hammerhead thing. I have plenty of batteries to power these…. 😉

  62. I am in the Milwaukee 12v line, so I would need to get some batteries and then put these all in the STEM Club tool bin for the students to use.

  63. The good news is, I’m one of those poor souls who bought into the craftsman c3 line. So I have plenty of batteries!!! An extra drill would be awesome, and if I’m seeing correctly, that looks like a 3/8” impact, which I don’t have. Send it my way!!!

  76. I am super hype to have a chance to win the full-size drill and impact. I have some 12volt tools that do me just fine, but recently I have found the need for full-size 18volt tools.

  77. 2 days every week I volunteer to provide facility maintenance training. These tools would enhance my training sessions.

  82. I just bought my wife a craftsman 12 volt jacket (that uses the nextec batteries) for Christmas with extra batteries, yet have no nextec tools. this in addition to the other tools would help as most of my tools are corded

  83. Could really use a set of these at work. We science teachers always seem to have some idea for a project that needs sanded, cut, screwed, drilled, etc., but never have the tools handy, and have to remember to bring personal tools from home.

    I’ve heard good things about the C3/Nextec.

  84. I have a C3 set (including the drill driver pictured) which is ok. Wouldn’t mind adding the impact wrench to it for some lighter duty auto work. The nextec stuff would probably go to my wife, but I’m a little concerned about finding the batteries, since it seems Sears has abandoned the line. The right angle driver would be useful for pocket hole screws, although probably the Ridgid is better (with the supported battery line and its shorter profile).

  98. I just moved back home from China, and I am moving into my first house with a real workshop. These tools would be really helpful for getting my shop up and running.

  110. The first power tool line that I ever bought into was Sears Nextec. My parent’s gifted me the drill you have pictured as my first power tool when I bought my first house. I bought a few other Nextec tools and still use them to this day even though I have quite a few other options to choose from. I have the rare Nextec rotary tool that I use weekly, and I keep the Nextec tire inflator and flashlight pictured above in my car for emergencies. Unfortunately, I killed that original drill that my parent’s bought for me, but it’s actually what brought me to this site when I was researching what to buy next. Thanks for the site.

  160. I’ve been using the same corded Craftsman drill for almost 20 years now. It still works, but as I head into home ownership I am in dire need of a cordless set. Since I don’t have any cordless tools yet, I don’t have any brand restrictions in terms of matching battery packs. These tools will get used for years to come on home improvement projects. I tend to take care of my belongings so they will live a long life assuming there are no manufacturer defects.

  161. I love the NexTec tools and C3 tools. It is a shame that the NexTec are no longer available and the batteries are very difficult to locate. That being said I do have some NexTech tools and I stocked up on batteries so I would love to have these tools to round out my current collection. I have a small motorcycle shop that I do work on the side. My work space is very limited; therefore, these tools would round out my cordless tools to help me be a little more productive.

  162. I’m a graduate student and work on friends cars in my free time who can’t afford to pay a mechanic. These tools would be really helpful when it comes to working on their cars and/or homes, especially since I’ve already bought into the C3 line and have batteries. I’m surrounded by millenials (like myself) who unfortunately don’t know much about using tools and don’t have the money to really pay anyone else.

  172. I’ve been accused (by a Craftsman fan) of being a Bosch fanboy . I’d love to win this set so that I can put the Nextec 12v tools head-to-head against my Bosch 12v set. (You’ll note that I’m NOT gunning for the Rigid giveaway for this very reason… unless a Rigid fanboy comes along, wanting to duel!) Also, I have an immediate need for the Stanley wrench. So I’ll end up buying chargers and batteries to prove (or lose) a point, but it’s worth it.

  175. I own one Nextec tool and have the battery and charger. If I won this, I’d send the prize to my son-in-law and also send him my battery and charger. Thing is, he only has a few very low-end power tools. Because I have to fly most of the day to visit my daughter and son-in-law, I can’t tote my own tools back and forth. But I usually end up DIY’ing a things there, using his tools. If he had these tools, he would probably like them, but so would I, whenever I visit 😀

    I’ve thought about getting him other tools in the past, but he might be insulted by that. However, if it were a prize, it would be a different story. Also, as some of us know, once we get used to better tools, it’s hard to go back to lesser ones.

    This would justify my buying the Ridgid Jobmax right angle drill attachment to replace the Nextec. Never thought about it before seeing that on the other giveaway for the Ridgid tools.
