A couple of years ago I bought my father two Craftsman rubber garden hoses. I don’t think he ever used them, but it’s what I’d buy for myself. This Tuff-Guard hose looks to be a reasonable alternative, and it also seems like it would weigh quite a bit less than rubber and traditional green PVC garden hoses.
Taking a look at Amazon user reviews, a number of people reported that leaks can develop at the fittings. Just something to be mindful of.

At least it’s not the Pocket Hose, https://www.pockethose.com/

I’ve seen that on TV before and it looked interesting but fragile. I peaked at the reviews for it on Amazon, and they’re mostly negative.

Stuart, this is probably very obvious, but I’ve noticed ALL products look great on TV, but in some cases, such as this, the actual product isn’t that great. Nice idea, but very gimmicky and the material used isn’t that great.

There is no better hose than the Craftsman Black Hose. And it has a no-hassle lifetime warranty. Yes, it is heavy to move around the yard and I have yet to find a hose reel that will withstand all that weight for more than a year. But that is a small price to pay for a hose that never kinks, never gets blows up like a ballon in the sun and stays flexible in the dead of winter.

I agree with rubber hoses being better than most of the others, depending on what you want to use it for (if water tastes like rubber out of the end of the hose, what chemicals are being absorbed by my vegetables?)
But the definition of “lifetime warranty” is very vague.
I’ve been told that it is the lifetime of the product, not my lifetime.
I’ve outlived the company that made the product many times, although the product didn’t survive much longer.
I’ve been told that they changed that policy when the company was sold.
I’ve been told that the product wasn’t intended for the type of use that I used it for (a socket???)
My experience with Craftsman has been mixed. They won’t honor it if it is no longer being made – I wouldn’t mind an upgrade to the current model, but no no no. But sometimes they do come through, although I wondered if the new guy that honored the warranty got fired when the boss found out.
These days, companies come and go so fast that I give these warranties little value.
