Back in September I posted about the new Wera deep sockets sets, which launched as part of their Autumn-Winter 2019 Campaign. Hidden in plain sight in Wera’s catalog, I spotted the largest set of precision screwdrivers drivers we’ve seen from the brand.
The Wera Kraftform Micro Big Pack 1 Precision Screwdriver Set contains a comprehensive selection of 25 different screwdrivers styles and sizes.

Each screwdriver has a swivel cap end which allows for rapid twisting, and a hexagonal profile to stop it from rolling off your work surface. The handles are made from a combination of hard and soft plastic materials allowing for a comfortable grip and both high speed and high torque applications.

First Impressions
I’ll admit I have a soft spot for Wera, as I appreciate companies that are focused on a small range of products, but are seemingly obsessed about every small detail.
It was a no-brainer to add this set to my cart when I went to buy a set of their deep socket sets last week. As expected, the set is very nicely put together – each driver is held firmly in place in the case but it doesn’t take too much effort to pull them out. The case is made of thick canvas and rolls up nicely, without being too bulky.
The Wera Kraftform Micro Big Pack precision screwdriver set comes with 25 screwdrivers, which works out at a little over $5 each. Individually these drivers cost anywhere from $4 to $9 each. If you are in the market for a set like this, I highly recommended the Big Pack.
Also Consider
If you don’t need so many sizes or styles, you can buy a 12pc value set for ~$35 at Amazon. This set has 5 slotted screwdrivers, 2 Phillips, 3 hex, and 2 Torx.
Wera also has a 5pc set with 2 Phillps and 4 slotted screwdrivers and a plastic rack for $19.

While I prefer the Felo handle shape to Wera, I really like Wera’s tips. Since precision screwdrivers are a whole different animal, I just might give these a try.
Thanks for posting a real life picture too – I was looking at those product images and immediately wondered if it really lay perfectly flat when rolled out.
Also, looking at Wera’s picture of the closed tool roll, does it actually roll up that small? Looks like there wouldn’t be room for the drivers – perhaps that’s an empty case in the product image?

It does not roll up quite that small, but it is more compact than you might think for the number of drivers in the roll. Their picture (to me) looks about 2-2.5” in diameter, in reality, Ben’s 4” number seems more accurate, so almost double the diameter of what their picture looks like. And no, it definitely doesn’t lay flat like their picture haha.

Yeah it definitely doesn’t lay flat. The picture I took has the roll standing up on it’s side. When I tried to take photos with it flat, it kept rolling up on itself. And thanks for the feedback on the real life products, I’ll try to do that more often!
If you wanted to store it open, in a drawer or something, you could encourage it to stay flat over time.
In terms of diameter, that photo is deceiving. The Velcro couldn’t really allow you to go smaller than 4″

That fits with their target audience, the product details say “electricians, opticians, precision mechanics, jewellers or IT hardware fitters”

Tri-wing is slightly offset, like a fan rotor or something. Hard to notice until you get to bigger sizes. This may be similar to Tri-Point, which is like a three-sided Phillips. The blades are aligned to the center point. The names have been used interchangeably, so it gets confusing.
This is the first I’ve heard of “Microstix” as a driver type. It may be Wera’s name for it. There is also Tri-Lobe, which I believe is similar, but with rounded lobes. Sort of like Pentalobe, but with three sides instead of five.
Manufacturers keep coming up with new screws to keep people out of their devices. They would rather you buy a new one than fix it.

I’d agree; from Wera’s little diagram, it looks like a tri-point, but with rounded INSIDE corners (on the driver.)

Correction, that’s apparently an ordinary tri-point. If you look at some screws carefully, they call for a driver with rounded inside corners.

Microstix is a drive standard developed by a company called OSG. Wera licenses the “Microstix” designation from them. They’re one of the only companies (that I know of) to license it, which is why you don’t see it anywhere else.
If you ever need this driver (they’re used in some Apple and Nintendo products) I definitely recommend buying the genuine ones from Wera – off brand drivers I’ve gotten on eBay/Amazon aren’t made to spec (they’re usually just similarly-sized tri-lobes) and strip screws…really sucks when you’re working on an expensive electronic product 🙁

I ordered this also when I ordered the advent calendar, really like it as a convenient way to carry precision drivers with you. Otherwise, I was putting Wiha precision drivers in a pouch or similar to be able to carry them with me, and they were just in there loose. I changed out a few of the drivers with some SAE equivalents.
Looking at my order history, looks like I paid about $78 for this from amazon.de, shipping was $11 for both this and the advent calendar.

I really don’t like these drivers, but that is personal taste, I prefer the classic Wiha’s (not the PicoFinish. However, the Wera’s are indeed good quality.

I have had this set for over 2 years and this is not your typical set for woodworking or auto shop. I have received a grant to get back to work during the Covid and I went with this set for the field of I.T. This set has all the drivers needed for any PC application, Sam Sung Tablet & even some of the older iMacs. They are not used daily, but they are my go to when ever I need to open up a laptop to switch out a solid state drive or add RAM. The Pouch & the way that it rolls up is feather in the cap! I was sold on this brand and have been using this set with confidence.
