Over at Amazon, they have this Wera 35pc “maintenance W1” tool kit on sale for $112.10. My usual go-to USA dealers have the same set priced at ~$192 and up.
Update 9/25/22: The price is now $103.19 with a 1-2 month ETA.
This tool kit comes with a 1/4″ Zyklop Speed ratchet (one of my favorites!), an assortment of metric sockets, screwdriver bits, a VDE insulated screwdriver handle, and 154mm (~6″) length VDE insulated screwdriver inserts.

Amazon is offering fantastically low pricing from their “Amazon Global Store UK” seller profile, and the sale price includes international shipping. As far as I can tell, this is Amazon UK/EU as a 3rd party seller operating within our region.
Learn More: Amazon Global Store
The next-lowest price is $138 via 3rd party sellers on Amazon. As mentioned, my usual go-to Wera dealers have even higher pricing of ~$192 to $196.
The set comes with a handy folding case, but you can separate the components into different kits if you fund that to be more convenient.

Thank you Tim B for the tip!
Curtis
Just an FYI, but Amazon Global Store UK is a 3rd party seller. They are not affiliated with Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk
Stuart
Although they’re not easy to get to, Amazon has entire pages discussing the Amazon Global Store.
From https://www.amazon.com/b?node=14770868011&tag=toolguyd-20:
This suggests that while Amazon Global Store UK is technically a 3rd party seller, they are affiliated with Amazon.
Also, Amazon would not allow any unaffiliated 3rd party seller to use the term “Amazon” anywhere in their seller name.
Franck B.
Although Amazon “would not allow any unaffiliated 3rd party seller” to use Amazon, it happens all the time and takes time before being noticed and the seller removed (customer service is not interested in receiving reports of that).
It’s usually done by the seller using some unicode character in the name that doesn’t trigger their automatic filter.
Also sellers are allowed to use “Amzn”, “Amazn”, and similar things with impunity, despite it easily misleading many consumers.
Franck B.
Even as part of Amazon, I’ve had 75% of my Amazon Global Store orders go missing before being accepted by the shipper. (That means every order after my first.) From that point, it took 6-8 weeks after my initial order for the loss to be accepted and a refund be initiated.
So if you absolutely need something or don’t like/can’t accept having your money held without having a product, it’s probably not a good way to go.
If I can’t get it here I just to go to the UK and buy it and bring it back.
frampton
That’s interesting. I have ordered dozens of items from them and never had a problem. Are you in the US?
Franck B.
Well, the orders were to be shipped to the US. I believe the carrier each time was FedEx.
I’m glad to know that this is not the normal for most people.
But others should beware that if there is a problem… the resolution may not be quick nor ideal! A refund is great, but if during the two months the price goes up, generally you’re out the savings. Of if you are making an order based on an exchange rate swing, it may no longer be in your favor or be adjusted out later on. On US Amazon-sold items they generally will reorder for you rather than issue a refund, but US Amazon does treat the Amazon Global Store really is a 3rd-party seller for most issues, and is treated as such in most policies. So being lost in shipping after two months they never offered me a reorder.
If you’re ordering Systainers… they might not be as easy to “go on walkabout” or even be as desirable.
Stuart
When an Amazon package goes missing or similar, they replace it at $0.
One of my international Amazon orders was fulfilled with the wrong item. They processed it the same as an exchange, with the replacement sent at no charge ($0).
Thus, getting a replacement order shouldn’t involve exchange rates.
Amazon says Amazon.com handles Amazon Global Store customer service, and so I don’t see how they would treat it differently.
Whenever an Amazon package goes missing or is lost in transit, I complain, they give me a “wait until [a day or two from now] and we can send a replacement if it doesn’t show up.”
I’m curious to see what everyone’s experiences are with this Wera set.
Franck B.
@Stuart
I understand what you’re saying.
But I’m providing empirical evidence of how the situation was handled several times. When an guaranteed delivery date from an Amazon purchased item is late, you get the buttons in your orders on what to do next. When it’s from Amazon Global Store UK, the buttons didn’t show for 24 days, and customer service told me to wait to see what happened.
You’re suggesting how you think it should be, and that you don’t understand why it wouldn’t be any other way. (Maybe I am taking you too literally!)
I can’t tell you why it shouldn’t be any other way, and you’re right, it shouldn’t involve a difference in exchange rate, yet in my experience… not the case. Maybe if it never happened to me I might not understand how it could be any other way (but I think I would).
Others probably have had it handled some other way, or the way you expect. Since it is kind of an Amazon company, they don’t let the seller be reviewed so other evidence is hard to gather. It’s all anecdotal anyway.
My last order was 7/21. The same item I ordered is still for sale from AGSUK. Despite the drop in exchange rate, the item is more expensive now than when I ordered it. The last time I tried, the refund took just over a month, which is an improvement over the two months the first time.
Just sharing experiences, I’m not implying it will always be that way. But I don’t want it implied that it will never be that way, either.
Stuart
Thank you for the feedback, I do appreciate it!
Missing items tend to be difficult for Amazon agents to resolve, whether sold directly by them or their global store.
Generally, the normal return/exchange process is useless. The same goes for certain products, such as Fire for kids tablets, where they will try to push you through multiple levels of tech support first.
You should much more patient than I am.
If I’m giving an ETA and they miss it, I check tracking. If tracking has not been updated, I chat with an agent. If I’m less patient, I get on a call.
They will normally say “if it doesn’t show up by [2 days from now] we’ll replace it.” 2 days later – “it didn’t show up, I would like a replacement/refund.”
This is where chat can help, as it stores a history where you and they can see what was last said about an issue.
Customer service agents often follow a script. If there’s an issue beyond what they typically handle, a satisfactory resolution often requires customer insistence.
I’m not waiting another week for something that should have arrived yesterday or last week, especially if it’s in stock and ready to ship in a shorter amount of time.
I’ll give them another go, and will be eager to hear about everyone’s feedback about their ordering experiences.
Hopefully you only experienced bad luck (sorry!), and that they don’t typically disappoint.
If what happened to you happened to me too, I’d be upset too. Thank you also for confirming your experiences were relatively recent!
Yours and everyone else’s experiences will influencer whether I pay attention to Amazon Global Store deals in the future, and if I need to add a disclaimer.
Raycr
Looks like a better deal than Advent deal
Stuart
Indeed!
I would have immediately jumped on the deal if the screwdriver shafts weren’t insulated, although I still might.
I have a couple of the same tools from Wera’s 2018 Advent calendar – https://14cyiuhvcgv.com/wera-tool-advent-calendar-2018/%3C/a%3E , and tend to use them wherever needed, whether the application calls for insulated drivers or not.
I do baby insulated drivers a bit, in case I need them for electrical work.
There are other sets if one doesn’t need the insulated screwdriver components. For example:
https://www.amazon.com/Wera-05004016001-Zyklop-Metric-Ratchet/dp/B00IMF1CDO/?tag=toolguyd-20
https://www.amazon.com/Wera-Zyklop-Ratchet-Socket-Metric/dp/B004VMWZLU/?tag=toolguyd-20
https://www.amazon.com/Wera-Kraftform-Kompakt-Zyklop-Mini/dp/B01CILZXRI/?tag=toolguyd-20
Patrick T
I have a set of the insulated drivers. I love the compact nature of it for the variety. And, these types of interchangeable drivers aren’t as bulky at the business end as most bit drivers.
Regarding the insulation, it’s pretty substantial. I think you’d really need to put them through some serious abuse to damage them.
Raycr
Only 11 left right now at your Amazon link. Since I was too slow to hit the order button on a couple of past Advent Wera Deals I just ordered it at 11:30 AM.
Not clear if they will get more in.
Raycr
I always eyed that Zyklops ratchet.
That made me order it.
Ball_bearing
The imperial version would be nice for HVAC but isn’t on sale. We need to swith to metric already. 😆
Jim Felt
I’ve gifted these kind of “deals” before but only after realizing they never quite have the pieces I seem to use most…
Plus I love to mix and match my most used tools into grouping for specific uses.
But thanks, Stuart, for the great value heads up.
fred
I just clicked on Stuart’s link and bought one as a Christmas gift. Like you it probably doesn’t have the pieces I use most – but what I us most is not in short supply at any of my places or in my cars
Saulac
Is there a way to browse Amazon Global Store? Want to see what available.
Tim B.
It’s really tough. You can click on the ‘storefront’ listing… and it gives you a very huge list with almost no categories to narrow it down, or ability to sort…. however you CAN use the search bar at the top to just search within that store.
To add to that frustration, when trying to see if something is a good deal, you can’t easily tell from that list. Example: searching Wera, you will get the results including the deal in this post, but it won’t show that it is discounted or what the savings is!
If you find a good way, share! I’m sure there are likely many other buried treasure deals.. I just didn’t have the time / patience to wade further!
Stuart
As Tim says, it’s hard, as they don’t exactly give it a navigable storefront.
I think I found a way.
Search for “tools.” https://www.amazon.com/s?k=tools&tag=toolguyd-20
In a desktop browser (I haven’t tried mobile yet), look to the left sidebar, where there are various filtering options.
There’s a heading “Amazon Global Store” with a checkbox. You can also later select Amazon Global Store UK as the seller.
It then gives you more filterable and sortable results.
https://www.amazon.com/s?k=tools&i=tools&bbn=328182011&rh=n%3A328182011%2Cp_n_is-global-store-asin%3A16354393011%2Cp_6%3AAP3VA1GJZM3EQ&tag=toolguyd-20
There are only “featured brands,” but you can enter more specific search terms.
Julian Tracy
What’s the point of a 10mm/13mm wrench? Make it a 10/12 and you’re actually giving us a useful tool. And who needs 5.5/6/7mm sockets, throw in a 14mm and you’ve got as set that will get a metric ton more work done.
Stuart
Those are the two sizes I use most.
10mm fits common M6 hex flats, and 13mm fits M8.
Julian Tracy
I work on small Honda engines, Suzuki/Yamaha/Honda quads and my toyota trucks. Have used a 13mm maybe 1% of the time
David Z
I’ve just been assembling carts and workbenches from several brands while re-doing my workshop. All the brands were mixes of 10 and 13mm on each piece. You mentioned vehicles, but there’s a whole lot of other things out there, too.
Mopar4wd
I think it varies my Chrysler uses 10mm and 13 mm allover the place.
Peter Coffin
I have never run across a 5.5 mm nut or bolt in my life. I have always been mystified by the useless small sockets that are included in many socket sets. Do they have some super specialized use?
Farid
5.5 is used on M3 screws and nuts. My robotics team (that I coach) uses hundreds of those and we are always short a socket or a wrench!
Scott ALKB
It’s $138 at the moment.
And in respect for the Queen’s passing, I want Imperial socks, not metric socks. Though I bet metric socks would keep my feet warm in Celsius, not Fahrenheit.
Stuart
Thanks!
Looks like the Amazon Global Store sold out. It’s worth checking back in case they restock quickly, which seems to happen regularly.
frampton
It’s in stock right now at $111.56.
Stuart
Thanks!
Hmm. Now backordered 1-3 weeks, and hidden under “more sellers.”
I updated the link to force it to default to the Global Store.
frampton
Amazon Global is a bit of a hidden gem, especially when they offer free shipping, I’ve purchased a dozen 12-drawer Festool Sortainers at under $120, which is about a 40% discount.
Tim D.
I love all the wera tools I have. However, I find most of their pre-packaged toolkits to be a random smattering of tools. With the exception of the tool check plus kits, the rest seem too random for me. I feel the same way about all of their advent offerings I’ve seen. I just can’t make myself pull the trigger,
Love their drivers, allen keys, mini zyclop ratchets. I’d like to try their standard ratchets.
JoeM
Good to know this exists out there. Not something I would buy myself, but certainly something I would suggest to others.
I’m more interested in the Joker series Adjustable wrenches, and the Kraftform Ratcheting and Turbo bit holders. Maybe some ESD versions, dunno.
I like Wera, but I am just weirdly specific about what I want from them. I don’t know why, and I’m sure there are others who have way more experience than I do, who have “Better Suggestions” for me. I appreciate it, I do. But the things from Wera that I like, are also things that I would rarely use. The higher end expense is an investment in quality, for those rare times I need them. I have Mastercraft from Canadian Tire equivalents right now, and they haven’t broken or given me reason to replace them. So, not in a rush.
But definitely glad this set exists!
And for Canadians, I won’t link it here, but Atlas has 2 versions of this exact set. Metric 2, and Imperial 1. Which I’m guessing are a matching set that can cover both considering the numbering.
Each set is $199 CAD each. ~ $151 USD. So, slightly above the US sales at Amazon, regular price. But Atlas puts all sorts of things on sale at random. I’m guessing these could be had for $100 US even on the right weekend with Atlas.
Charles
Stuart – I bought this set a couple of years ago on the Amazon.de site and it is a great kit.
But…. I didn’t see any metric sized socks in the kit – only sockets….. 🙂
Sorry….
Stuart
Thanks! *fixed*
Ha! I couldn’t figure why Scott was talking about socks in his comment above.
J. Newell
The only potential issue I’d flag on the insulated driver shafts is that some, maybe many or all, come two ways: insulation as an overmold, which results in a “step” where the shaft meets the insulation, and flush (probably still technically overmolded, but you get the idea). I’ve seen videos and forum posts where people show chipped/worn insulation with the first type, and of course there may be some access holes you could get the driver shaft into where the added diameter of the insulation prevents access.
I’ve had only great results with the normal variety, which are usually a little less expensive. I’m actually somewhat ambivalent about these compared to the Klein insulated drivers, but the variety of available driver shafts is far greater with Wera.
Brian
No ECX bit
Andrew
I was drooling over this until i saw it was metric. My shop is almost all SAE
Stuart
This is the norm for European tool brands. Wera tends to have greater SAE/inch selection than most.
Fritz Gorbach
For what its worth, this set is $103.19 today. Says that it’s the lowest price in 30 days.
I’ve looked at it a couple of times, but hadn’t pulled the trigger. But the new price was too good to pass up I guess.
I’ve always wanted to try one of those Zyklops ratchets out, the Joker wrenches are mildly interesting to me, and I have frequent use for the insulated drivers, so looks like a good deal.
Stuart
Thanks! I updated the post, pushing it to the top.
If anyone placed the order at a higher price and it hasn’t shipped yet, they could potentially reorder and then cancel the first order. (Don’t cancel before securing a new order.)
But, there’s always a risk if the backorder delay grows longer. Amazon has cancelled some of my orders when backorders haven’t been fulfilled in a reasonable time.
The Amazon Global store is treated as a 3rd party seller, but Amazon.com handles customer service, and so a one-time price adjustment request might be possible.
fred
The one I ordered as a gift – is scheduled to arrive Wednesday – so i missed any chance of cancelling/reordering. The other sider of thet coin is that Amazon seems to now be listing it at $138
fred
Funny – that your link does indeed still show the $103.19 price – while when I looked at my order and clicked on the item – $138 pops up as the best price. Amazon often surprises me.
Stuart
Amazon’s algorithm has to pick (1) retailer and (1) price to feature on the page. Others are then located in the “other sellers on Amazon” sidebar, or in the “new from $XYZ” drop-down that takes you to more listings.
Adding a merchant code can force Amazon to show a particular listing.
I occasionally do this when an Amazon Prime listing sells out, but still allows for backorders.
I suppose the idea is that there’s greater chance of a sale if Amazon features an “available now!” listing even at a higher price, than a lower price that’s backorderedable.
So, leave the Amazon algorithm by itself, and it will often show the “best available price for immediate shipment” listing.
We want the “best price even if I have to wait” price, since it’s appreciably lower, and so that’s how I created my link.
You can still dig around to find the Amazon Global Store listing, it just takes a bit more effort to do it manually.
But if someone wants a more immediate order, the $138 and “Prime Free One-Day” 3rd party seller option is more visible under the “more sellers on amazon” heading.
Philip+Proctor
What a weird selection of tools.
Jared
Stuart, there’s a new Picquic called “the Pic”.
I assume it’s new anyway – I’ve never seen one before, but spotted it today at a tool store.
Only holds three bits, but it’s flattened and seems intended for pocket carry. I thought it was a neat idea.
Stuart
Thanks! Never heard of that one before, will look into it.
fred
https://www.mississaugahardware.com/product/picquic-picquic-21001-the-pic
This is quite different from the usual old-school PicQuic handle style.
I keep old inventories – and see that some of our plumbers must have asked for this one:
https://www.amazon.com/Picquic-98883-Carded-Screwdriver-Nutdriver/dp/B001O5NXOA
J. Newell
The Amazon link now comes up unavailable, but it looks like a Super 8 Plus, which is available in four different versions.
http://picquic.ca/super-8-plus/
Two look like exactly what an HVAC tech would be interested in:
http://picquic.ca/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/bit-assortments-super-new.png
J. Newell
Sorry, editing by reply – yes, the 98883 is indeed a Super 8 Plus and is one of the four versions shown on the first link above. Looks like the link to the graphic isn’t live, but the graphic that shows the four bit assortments is on the main page (first link). Two of the assortments have a Schrader valve tool.
Raycr
Just got mine. It is a very nice set.
Presentation is superb.
Wera still means quality.
Farid
Thanks, Stuart, for the Link. I just bought one as a gift to myself.
Funda
Ordered one a few days ago though I don’t really need it 🙂
The credit card got charged today and a quick glance at amazon.com to check on delivery estimate shows price at $101.89 now.
Stuart
Hmm. I wonder if the price is directly tied to an exchange rate, and that’s why it has been changing.
Funda
Could be since the GBP continues to decline against the USD. We should watch the seller for additional opportunities 🙂
Mark_M
I ordered one a week ago at about $103. Two days ago it was down to $101.
I just took a look and it is now back up to $138.
Jim T
The availability at the lower price points come and goes. It’s worthwhile to check back often. I just picked up a couple right now for $106 each.
Funda
For anyone that ordered this, or anything else from the Amazon Global Store, when does the tracking get updated? My order is due to arrive on Oct 19 and is still at the “Ordered” state
Adam
The first one I ordered showed up last Friday. Then I ordered another when the price dropped, and that shows October 17.
Funda
My order shipped today
Funda
Got it today and it is beautifully made! Which helps me rationalize buying it since I do very little with live electrical circuits 🙂
Two questions.
Can the ratchet mechanism be locked/defeated using the green knob? I have only been able to set it to clockwise and counterclockwise modes.
And does the voltage tester only work for 240V? It doesn’t seem to light up on a live 110V wire (I have my thumb on the metal disc)
