Wolverine has come out with new Halo Master Chief-themed work boots.
Wolverine says that their new style “puts you directly in Spartan-117’s shoes.”

Features include a bungee lacing system, hook and loop lace cover, rubber lug outsole, removable footbed, and an UltraSpring cushioning that delivers a lightweight energized ride never before experienced in a work boot.

April Fools?
No, this is real. This was apparently a limited edition where only 117 pairs of boots were made, and they rapidly sold out earlier this week.
Will
Damn I would have been all over these had I known.
Rx9
Work boots that will never see a speck of dirt, or day of actual work, for that matter…
it’s_jake
they’ll probably see a few smiles though
Corey Moore
What’s it matter?
Gordon
Gatekeeping much?
George
Better the boots than the body-kit-clad commercial body trucks daily-driven to office jobs around here.
Rx9
The truth hurts, lol.
Andrew
Regardless of how we might/might not feel about it, that’s been the style in certain circles for many years. If I elected to buy them, I’d be wearing them at work, but whether I’d consider buying them would have a lot to do with how they compare to any other boot I’d pick to cover my monstrously large tootsies.
Luke
Let people enjoy things 🙄
Rob H
They look sharp.
Michael Hammer
Pair those with European-style work pants and you would look bad ass on the work site. I bet those 117 buyers have made a good investment. I lament that I didn’t hang on to my Air Jordan’s from the 80’s.

> European-style work pants
Pardon my ignorance but WTH are ‘European-style work pants‘?
Andrew
Blaklader 1600’s or Fjallraven come to mind. They do stand out on US jobsites.
Franck B.
I really like my Blakläder pants and my favorite jacket was my Blakläder soft-shell jacket with contrast stitching… which the US distributor does not import any more. The company might not even sell it, I haven’t seen it in the catalog for a couple years. 🙁

Cosplay construction. What’s not to like? You pretend to build, destroy it and build it back again. Problems solved. Oh wait, “Siri, put my Halo boots on for me!”
Jim Felt
Soon. Very soon.
Andrew
Correction, that would be Cortana, not Siri
Seriously, do you even use work boots ;-P
Mike
‘…Wolverine says that their new style “puts you directly in Spartan-117’s shoes.”…’ Fortunately, I have absolutely NO idea what that means 👍
Andrew
Or not so fortunate!

They actually look like they’d be nice to weld in. Hopefully this is made available at some other time in a different color way, since they find a nice middle ground between pull on boots and lace ups. Cool find!
IndianaJonesy (Matt J.)
Should have been Bungie lace system.
…I’ll see myself out.
Rob H
I thought about that too. 😂
Michael F
I’m kind of sad these aren’t real. I don’t hate them.

Well I had forgotten Wolverine existed, so I guess the marketing campaign worked. They look like met-guard boots, but apparently it’s just for show. “Hook and loop lace covers”? I imagine the velcro getting pulled open and all full of crud, sawdust, etc. I mean if they were really meant to be used as work boots, that is.
Mike (the other one)
Wolverine needs to focus on quality instead of gimmicks.

Those aren’t worth $225 bucks. In my 40+ year career in the trades, I’ve worn just about all the major brands. Sears Suretracks, Herman Survivors, Timberlands, Wolverines and Justin pull-ons. Only once did I buy a pair of boots from Walmart; lasted about 5 months before stitching started coming loose.
My last pair, I splurged and got a pair of Redwing boots. After adding the toe protectors and custom insoles, I had just over $300 bucks in them. For that kind of money, free cleaning and conditioning every three months, as well as free laces for the life of the boot. I’ve had these for over 5 years.

FYI These are being listed on ebay for $1500-2500 now LOL
