Upgrade Your Gear! ToolGuyd Giveaway: Worx Garden Gear

Jun 12, 2014 Stuart 132 Comments

If you buy something through our links, ToolGuyd might earn an affiliate commission.

Worx has come out with some interesting new products for 2014 – the AeroCart, a new multi-purpose cart, and a 20V cordless multi-use grass trimmer.

We checked out the AeroCart and 20-volt GT trimmer, and found them to be quite neat. The designs are a little unique and even unconventional, but they work well.

ToolGuyd has partnered with Worx to give away some of their snazzy new tools to (2) lucky winners. Each winner will be able to choose which of the two new tools they want to receive.

The Prize: Your choice of one of the new Worx tools!

Prize Selection: Each winner will pick (1) tool of their choice as their prize.

Worx AeroCart WG050

Worx AeroCart

The AeroCart is a nice wheelbarrow, but it’s more than that! It’s also a hand cart dolly that can lift up to 300 pounds. And it’s a plant and rock mover. And an extended cart that can move large bulky items. And a bag holder for when you’re cleaning up trimmings or raking leaves.

Worx’s website does a great way of showing all the ways the AeroCart can be used.

On top of its many functions, the AeroCart is light and with its large wheels and comfortable handles it’s also very easy to maneuver and move around.

Here’s a quick intro video:

Worx 20V GT 2.0 Trimmer and Mini Mower WG160

Worx Cordless Trimmer

The new 20V cordless trimmer is part trimmer, part edger, part mower. The wheels are repositionable and not only do they make it easier to use the GT 2.0, they help produce more consistent results.

As with the AeroCart, the cordless trimmer is packed with functions, but the best part is how it’s adjustable to every user. The handle can be adjusted to a length that you’re comfortable with, and the auxiliary handle can be locked in at different angles.

In mini mower mode, the GT 2.0 trimmer is great for working on areas your push or rideable mower cannot reach, but it can also be used as the main mower for smaller lawns.

Here’s how it works:

Why? Although unique sometimes translates to gimmicky, we’re really liking these new Worx lawn and garden tools. Worx did a great job engineering both the AeroCart and GT 2.0 trimmer to be functional and user-friendly.

How to Enter: Leave a comment here, telling us which of the two Worx tools you’d like to win most, and which of its features you find most appealing.

Winner Selection: (2) winners will be selected at random, and each will be asked to choose (1) prize from among the two options discussed above.

Rules: You must have a non-PO Box continental USA address. Entry period ends Friday, June 27th, 2014. One entry per person.

Prize Fulfillment: Worx is supplying the products for the giveaway and will ship the prizes directly to the winners.

  1. But its me!

I would love the Aerocart, especially since someone helped themselves to my wheelbarrow (which was a goofy birthday gift to myself!). Would make hauling stuff around the yard and home so much easier.

I would love to win the Worx Aero Cart. I have to say that thing looks impressive in all the things you can do with it. I also like that it replaces a wheelbarrow and hand cart too. I have limited space so storing both in the garage is a pain. I already have a Worx GT 2.0 and that is an impressive string trimmer it has plenty of run time and power, and I like how they have it set up to edge too.

That trimmer looks REAL handy-especially if you have a yard like mine with tree roots a mower can’t navigate, flower beds and various other obstacles. Being able to edge EASILY with it would save my back (I use a regular corded string trimmer to do that now and it’s a strain). I happen to own a Worx 1/2″ hammer drill and it’s quite well made and cleverly engineered-like having an adjustable “D” handle angle.

It can also be used at the beach for parties, just add ice and your favorite beverages. When the party is over use it transport your party items back to your vehicle, and back to the garage. Simple…

I’d love to have the trimmer. With out flag lot, L-shaped ranch house, one outdoor plug, and lots of fence line/driveway to work on, a cordless model would be a huge plus (I don’t really like having to deal with gas trimmers, unless I need the extra power). I’ve also never had one that converts into an edger. Probably works a lot better than turning mine on its side (and flinging rocks everywhere!)

I would enjoy having the GT 2.0 trimmer. I recently had a conversation with some buddies that laughed at me when I told them I was in the market for a battery operated trimmer. They told me that there is no way I can trim a hillside with a battery operated trimmer. I want to prove them wrong with the mower feature…

I also have a garden and would like a trimmer that has precision cutting ability, with the adjustability of the Worx GT 2.0 trimmer I would be able to navigate around the fence line accurately without loss of desired crops.

The Aerocart has some unique features that I would use. I how you can pick up flower pots. My wife has a bunch of stone flower pots that weigh around 100lbs. My dolly doesn’t work the best for it but I use it anyway. This would be a nice upgrade. Also, the long length of it looks like it would give you great leverage for any use or user. Overall, I would put good use of this cart. Thanks for reading my comment and submission.

He has a heavy duty wheelbarrow to haul yard debris and I have a discarded bed sheet that I use to drag debris around. It’s difficult to “keep up with the Joneses”, or is it the Kardashians? Either one, the Worx Aerocart would be a real pleasure to put to work around the yard. It will work hard while I hardly work. I own a reel mower which does not do such a great job on weeds and tall grass. I usually mow the lawn once a week to keep up with it. If I miss a week, I find myself pulling out the 100′ extension cord and weed whacker to spend at least an hour swinging the weed whacker back and forth until the yard is manageable again. All this can be avoided if I had a powered mower but I do enjoy the quiet reel mower which I can use early in the morning or when the sun starts to set so I won’t be working in the heat.
Every time I am out there with my trimmer, I always imagined how easy it would be if I had some wheels on it. I would love to win the Worx 20V GT 2.0 Trimmer and Mini Mower WG160 since the two wheels would free me from having to swing the trimmer back and forth to mow the lawn.

The Worx AeroCart would be my choice. I have a small urban lot, but I have hundreds of plants including tropical fruit trees and plumeria that must be moved when it gets below 40 degrees here in the Houston area. In addition, I have to move dozens of bags of potting soil and mulch each year as I pot up plants and dress beds for each season. The Worx AeroCart will save hours of backbreaking work because it is more agile than the usual wheel barrels, it is narrow enough to get into every corner of my small yard and it is strong enough to handle even the largest pots I currently own.

I would LOVE to win the Aerocart… it’s the first multifunction tool I’ve seen in a while that didn’t seem “gimmicky” and would certainly save space compared to my current set of wheelbarrow AND hand truck.

    Count me in!

I watched the video on the AeroCart, and it’s an amazingly elegant solution to several problems that a regular wheel barrow cannot and should be used for. I know, because I have tried them all.

    I’d love to have one.

I would really like to win the aero cart after watching both videos. the features that appeal to me the most is the aero cart is more of a universal tool, and is not just a tool focused on lawn care. I just inherited a family home and moved my family in, and it needs tlc in and out. my sons only 6 and my daughter is a newborn, so the wife doesn’t have time to help so I’m burning the candle at both ends. thank you

The cart would be a perfect addition to our lawn tools. I can’t remember the last time I had the wheelbarrow out that I didn’t also have my two wheel cart out. No more single taskers!

It would be a tough choice to make. Both tools are impressive. Makes me wonder why no one thought of these before. Wheels on a Trimmer… Seems so obvious! The cart is awesome too! So many functions, so well built, so rugged. Decisions, decisions. I guess the cart would be more useful since it does so many things. I think I have to have them both.

I would choose the trimmer; I have 4 wheelbarrows but I’m stuck with a 100 foot cord on my old trimmer. The mower feature would help clean up after my human powered push mower.

I would love to own the Worx AeroCart WG050. I’m usually moving a lot of garden supplies around the yard and my wife and I would find this very useful in going to dog shows. We have a canopy that need to be moved from location to location every time we have a dog show. With my bad back the Worx AeroCart WG050 would prove to be very beneficial for the wife and myself.

I’d like to try ou the Worx AeroCart. One problem I have with my hand truck is ‘soft’ items, such as kraft paper lawn waste bags, falling off the left or right side while wheeling them. This looks like it would cradle them and make them less likely to dump.

These are both wonderful products and with the dependability and quality of Worx products it is really hard to make a choice. If I choose th trimmer, then I will end up buying the aero cart and visa versa so I can have both products. Since I am 72 and needing more help moving planters, etc. around, I will choose the Aerocart.

The AeroCart’s ability to be a hand truck and a and extended dolly look very useful. The ability to hold open a bag for clean-up is great. the inside of the cart is smooth and should be easy to hose out. The handles are a vast improvement over the traditional wheel barrel handles.

I tried to move a boulder the other day and hurt my back. I couldn’t find anything around the house that would let me roll it somewhere else. I like the idea of the cart with its large wheels that wouldn’t sink into the ground like some hand truck wheels would.

I would love the Aerocart. My current wheelbarrow is hand-me-down, which is rickety (it’s wood) and has failing tires. This year I spent significant time working in my yard, and realized for the first time how important a good wheelbarrow is. One time I was even filling the wheelbarrow with old dirt when it tipped over and spilled everywhere!
