Amazon kicked off a new round of early holiday tool deals, and I’m sure there are more to come.
Rather than run through everything, I picked out a couple that I found especially interesting.
It’s going to be a long holiday season, seeing as how it’s not even Halloween yet and just about every retailer has early Black Friday and holiday deals up already.

Dewalt 142pc Mechanics Tool Set
This mid-sized mechanics tool set features 1/4″ and 3/8″ ratchets, 6pt sockets, drive accessories, a couple of combination wrenches, hex key sets, and a grab-and-go case.

Craftsman 9-inch Torpedo Level
Everyone should have a compact torpedo level in their tool kit, and this Craftsman looks to be an upgrade compared to what I have in mine.

Anker USB-A Dual Port Charger
While the tech world has moved towards USB-C, many of us still have plenty of charging cables with USB-A plugs.
This Anker dual port charger can deliver 2.4A (12W) from each port, for 24W total.

Bosch 12V Cordless Right Angle Drill Kit
Sometimes, a cordless right angle drill/driver is just what you need.
This Bosch is a bit dated, but also tried-and-true. It’s got a trick up its sleeve – the head pivots with 5 positions from 90° to 180°.

Dewalt Modular Right Angle Impact Driver Adapter Set
What if you need to access fasteners in tight spaces and don’t want to buy another drill or driver? That’s where the Dewalt adapter comes in.
This is a 3pc set, featuring a compact impact-rated right angle adapter, an extension that gives it better grip, and a removable side handle. The adapter and its extension both have 1/4″ hex drive shanks.
There are a lot more tool deals, and we’re bound to see even more as the holiday season progresses. Let me know what other kinds of tool deals you might be looking for, and I’ll keep a lookout for them.

The Bosch right angle unit is a fair bit larger than I expected, which has reduced the number of times I have used it for DIY purposes. Offset angles are cool, but it is not so much a day to day thing. And best to have a variety of short drill bits.

Years ago I got an I-driver, like this drill but a 1/4″ q.r. instead of the keyless chuck. It was in a batch of my tools that got stolen off a job.
Ive got a few bosch 12v tools and Id consider buying it again if I could find it for a decent price.

Thanks! *fixed*
With Halloween merchandise up for sale over the summer, and holiday stuff in September, it does feel like it’s never going to be Halloween.

I just bought a larger version of that Anker charger with the USB A and C ports. The 10k version is pretty heavy, but it works really well and I like the dual functions (wall plug and portable bank). Anker makes great power banks and cables.
There’s a “like new” version available from Anker on Amazon for about $15 less. As a warning, I ordered that first and they sent me the wrong item twice…

Maybe I’m a bit too nervous, but I would never buy something like a battery power bank in “like new condition.”

That’s totally valid. I was skeptical of Amazon’s “used” alternatives but tried it out several years ago. I’ve had great experiences with items sold by Amazon Warehouse or the item’s manufacturer. I’ve had two kids’ toys come with missing pieces which I returned. Otherwise, everything has either been entirely intact or come in a slightly worn box with the actual item showing no signs of damage.
My opinion – based on no real knowledge – is that it’s easier for someone sorting returns to simply call something used than it is to actually open, inspect, and document what’s coming back. I was initially shocked by how many used items were arriving with the original packing seals intact- now, it’s sort of my expectation.
Amazon warehouse includes a 30 day warranty which should be sufficient to determine if an item is actually damaged or defective.

I should have added that the used section below the item often offers huge discounts on lots of books. This is a great way to build a home library for kids. Sometime there is a shipping fee that applies, so it’s worth buying multiple books from a single seller.
