You haven’t spent your entire holiday budget yet? Lucky! Here are a couple of power tool kits to splurge on:
For Yourself
Ridgid 18V Drill, Impact Driver, Radio Kit
Ridgid’s 18V R9601 combo is a nice all-around drill and impact driver set, and it comes with a great radio too. This combo is eligible for Home Depot’s holiday “tool tiered discount” promo, and so you get $50 off an eligible bare tool, accessory, or kit.

Ryobi Vertical Pancake Compressor
I have only fired up my test unit a couple of times now, but it took just one look for me to be sold on the form factor. The compressor is still a little large and bulky, but it has a much smaller footprint than your typical pancake air compressor.
Dewalt 10″ Table Saw

While not the latest and greatest, Dewalt’s DW745 is a tried-and-true performer. At $225 it’s practically a steal.
For Yourself or Others
Ridgid 12V Drill and Impact Driver Kit
Ridgid surprised me with this one, and in a good way. The drill and impact driver are both very comfortable to use, and deliver more power than I thought they would.
I wish the drill had a ratcheting chuck, but it’s at least single-sleeved and doesn’t seem to be prone to slippage.
For $99 I expected less, but you get more. This kit comes with a 2.0Ah battery and a 4.0Ah battery. There seems like there must be a catch, but I cannot find one.
Ryobi 18V Drill and Impact Driver Kit
At the $99 price point, the Ridgid combo cannot be beat. But some people prefer 18V tools. Ryobi’s basic drill and impact driver kit includes decent entry-level tools and provides easy entry into Ryobi’s excellent, affordable, and vast ONE+ lineup.
Bosch 12V Drill/Driver Kit
Bosch’s 12V Max PS31 is another tried-and-true favorite. This kit has been fixed at $99 throughout the holiday season, and is always a great buy for DIYers and professionals alike.
I had been hoping for there to be another PS31 and L-Boxx bundle promo this year, but it never came. That’s a shame, but $99 is still a great price for a top-tier compact cordless drill. If you’re interested in brushless, the PS32 kit is $60 more.
Rascally
Sadly I missed the DW745 at $225, and it’s now $299. Maybe it will go on sale after Christmas?

The Ridgid 12V Drill and Impact Driver Kit is an OK deal. I bought this set. Used it. I have quite a few 12v class drills and impacts and this impact and drill are NOT the best model of its Ridgid 12v line. First the drill/driver has a very short chuck. Look closely. It is also nowhere near the stated power, but it is adequate for light tasks. The Impact uses a collar that needs two steps to insert/remove, meanwhile i find its power is decent for the 12v class of brushed tools, but somewhat slow under load. It is an OK deal if you just need to do basic light duty work. The 2 batteries are where the deal is.
