Happy Leap Day! I’ve been getting some pretty lackluster deal info in my inbox, but one my Acme Tools caught my eye.
Today only, get 15% off one item, up to a maximum discount of $150. There are a few rules and exclusions, so here’s the fine print:

Valid online only through 11:59 PM CST, February 29, 2016. Limit one discount per person/company. Registered users only. Discount is off purchase price before tax and any applicable shipping charges. Not valid on prior purchases or in conjunction with other offers or promo codes. Only one promo code per order. Not valid on Sawstop, Festool, Yeti, Weber.
Seems pretty reasonable. Note that the offer is only available to registered users, but I don’t see why first-time Acme Tools customers can’t register first to take advantage of the promo savings.
Shop Now(via Acme Tools)
More details are on Acme Tools’ site.
Looks like the discount works on anything from Dewalt, Milwaukee, Bosch, or any of the other brands Acme Tools carries, aside from the 4 mentioned exclusions.

I also got this email from Acme – and a few from others (like McFeeleys)
There was one other one that looked possible:
ToolDepot247.com sent me an email – $29 off $129 or more using code “LEAP29”

The Acme Tools discount has surprising few exclusions. I used it to purchase a SuperMax 19-38 drum sander. It’s something I’ve been considering purchasing for awhile. I’ve seen free items bundled with them, but I’ve never seen them on sale. $150 off $1399 is significant.

Does anyone know what the McFeely’s discount is?
fred
The McFeely’s “deal” that they sent me was for some “giveaways” if you met some spending thresholds. You got a Fastcap bag (FSC-9038) if you spent $125+, You got a CMT 7 Pc Forstner Bit set (#CMF-0700) if you spent over $250. The promo code is: E6B6

Thanks Fred!

i ordered a dewalt 18-20 volt adapter kit that includes 2 batteries, a charger and the adaptor plus a second adaptor.
a big thanks to becky at acme tool for all of her help!
Travis
I hope you did some research on the adapters. There are a lot of tools they are not working correctly in. Most retailers have pulled selling them until DeWalt fixes the issues. Do some quick Googling to see what people are saying about the 1st batch of adapters released.
Just trying to save you some headache. I really hope DeWalt fixes the issues as I need 2 of them for my nail guns and 1/2″ impact.

research? um, yeah i have. i have been in numerous discussions here, authored an 11 page 240 comment topic on it at the garage journal and also a large topic at the garage gazette. despite many people saying it would never and could never happen, it has. i have been pushing this for years,
there are a few tools that it does not fit. mostly tools like lights and those that have integrated chargers like the radios. i don’t know how most retailers could have pulled them because other than a few prototypes they have only been out about a week. dewalt maybe, retailers no. i did a google search as you suggested and looked at the first 5 pages of results and saw nothing about issues but maybe i didn’t go back far enough.
there is a swedish company making a similar adaptor and they show in their video that most incompatible tools only need a tab removed from the tool to allow the adaptors to work. not telling anyone to do that but to the best of my knowledge all of the saws, drills, impact wrenches, impact drivers and grinders will accept it. in essence the most common tools all work.

i did some more research. according to dewalt the adaptor works in all of the tools except 6 chargers and 4 radios (built in chargers, that should be obvious why they don’t work), 4 lights and 4 nailers. if that is true the adaptor should work in the vast majority of tools
just guessing but i would bet there are at least a half dozen of each, impact drivers, recip saws, circular saws, impact wrenches, and caulking guns, throw in the at least 20 or 30 various drills and the oddball grinders, concrete vibrators vacuums and what not and i am sure there has been at least 100 different tools that use the 18 volt platform. if some of the lights and nailers don’t work it is too bad but drills, saws, and impacts are the far most common and they all appear to work
