Garrick wrote in with a heads-up that Lee Valley is carrying some new made-in-Germany organizers with introductory pricing. He saw them at his local Lee Valley store and added that the professional ones do look very nice and seem sturdy. He also mentioned that, based on the dimensions, the economy cases look to be able to fit inside Bosch’s L-Boxxes: 1 inside an L-Boxx-1, and 2 inside an L-Boxx-2.

I am not familiar with the Allit brand, nor could I find any information online. If you own or have used this brand’s organizers before, what do you think about them?

Modular Bins
Allit bins, which appear to be flat-bottomed, are also available via Lee Valley. You can use them to customize a modular storage case to your liking, or use them to furnish other brands’ tool boxes or drawers.
I still have a couple of spare Schaller plastic bins, but if I didn’t I would surely order some of these Allit bins for my drawers. The prices seem decent, although the size selection could be a little better.
(A) Economy Modular Storage Case
The economy case is made of polypropylene and measures 14-3/8″ x 11-1/2″ x 2-3/16″. It comes with one long bin for the front, and a variety of 14 modular bins. The clear lid is secured by two small latches, and there is a carrying handle molded into the front of the case.
Price: $18.50
Introductory price (thru 7/29/13): $25 for a pair
Update: The price as of March 2019 is $21.50 per case.
(B, C) Professional Modular Storage Cases
The small and large professional modular storage cases are both 17-3/16″ long and 13-3/16″ wide. The small case is 2-1/4″ tall, and the large case 3″ tall. Both cases are made from double-walled polystyrene, and feature clear polycarbonate lids that open from the middle. The handles are steel reinforced and pop down flat.

The small case comes with 21 modular bins and containers, and the large case 13.
Price: $47 for small, $49 for large
Introductory price (thru 7/29/13): $37 for small, $39 for large
Update: The price as of March 2019 is $62.50 for the small case, $64.50 for the large.
All cases have grid patterns on the inside, as well as on the lid, which interlock with the included bins so that contents don’t shift.

Would it make sense to put any of these inside something like an l-boxx or tough case if it fit? I am not sure about the appeal of these if you already have something like one of those systems already going…
Stuart
In an L-Boxx-1 or -2, possibly. But there could be noticeable benefit from putting a stack of these inside of an L-Boxx-3 or -4. But at that point I would instead recommend a Festool Sortainer.

That is what I was thinking – either that, or I think we could just wait until bosch releases their equivalent… which I think they have in the works already…???
Besides, the guys who have to have everything the same style of storage (not me, no… not at all 🙂 ha) would have a hard time switching over to systainers 😛

I am not familiar with that brand but this is their website http://www.allit.de/en/business-segments/storage/diy/products/products/
But in general they seem to get good ratings on amazon.de

I love the look of these cases but I think I will stick with the Dewalt and Stanley FatMax storage cases. Around $20 and they are amazing. Not as modular as these but for the money; DeWalt and Stanley.

For the money, these are basically the same, and much less $.

$8.

$13.
I have these, and other than the world’s most annoying label that is *$&%& to get off, they are every bit as good as the Dewalt ones.

Those HF cases look like Stanley’s, but they’re not built the same. I also saw an off-brand model at Sears once. It’s easy to say that the generic import versions are every bit as good as Stanley/Dewalt’s, but they’re really not. Handle both and you’ll definitely see a difference.
I’m not saying the HF organizers aren’t a fine solution for some, but the Stanley organizers offer much better quality for the extra cost. If you want more, and are okay paying more, you get more.
