Amazon Best Holiday Tool Deals (Mid-December 2021)

Dec 12, 2021 Stuart 11 Comments

If you buy something through our links, ToolGuyd might earn an affiliate commission.

To put it plainly, things have been different this year – we’re not seeing as many mid-season or late-season tool deals as in previous years.

Maybe this has to do with retailers’ efforts to drive earlier purchases, or maybe rising costs, factory bottlenecks, shipping delays, or other factors have impact brands’ and retailers’ abilities to offer later-season deals.

Despite this, Amazon still has quite a few tool deals going on right now, and although not much of it is new or different, I figured I’d share the better promos in case you find them helpful.

I didn’t even realize that Mora insulation knife even existed. Just knowing how well my other Mora’s work, it makes me want to re-insulate my house just so I have an excuse to buy one.

yeah, that thing looks awesome. I was using extendable utility knife blade on rockwool (which worked OK, but required at least two cuts per line most of the time, and dulled the blade pretty quick), but this looks beautiful in comparison

The CalVan bit holder that I like – is about $2 less than what I paid for it earlier this year:

Thanks, found some good ideas here.

Wera2Go shoulder bag is on sale at Amazon. Wondering if anyone has had good experience with it?

Are you talking about this? https://amzn.to/3oJKtqK

It seems like a neat idea for users that already have a couple of Wera tool kits in pouches that fit the Velcro-style panels.

That’s the one. Looks like a handy way to carry the Wera pouches along with a driver for basic installation and fixes. Wonder if I could keep it lighter than the tool backpack I’ve overfilled…

Thanks again for all the research and information. I’ve learned a lot from this site. And the sale notices themselves are informative with the notice, discussion, and comments that help me learn and find the tools for the task.

          Thank you, I appreciate it!

With the Wera 2Go, I’d like to be able to say that it might be a good idea to try one of their smaller and more affordable bags or packs first, but the system is not quite as modular where I would do this myself.

It’s also hard to do a “try and return if it doesn’t work out” option, as it ships internationally on Amazon, and USA vendors have it at much higher pricing.

It might be lighter than a backpack, but you also only get one carry strap. Depending on how much you load into it, it might get quite heavy.

Thanks for this posting Stuart, otherwise I’m sure I would have missed out on the Streamlight deal on Amazon. Just ordered the 500 lumen Macrostream. Been waiting for this!! Thank you for your devotion. We all appreciate what you.

Thanks, I appreciate your kind words! I was hesitant about this post, as I know I’m not the only one burnt out by the early and lengthy pre-Black Friday deals coverage, but I’m glad I made the right call.

As for the Macrostream, I’ve been wondering about that model. I’ve only see it a couple of times, mainly in comparisons to the smaller Microstream, but it seems to be a logical step up for anyone who needs greater brightness or runtime.

I have several streamlights. The microstream USB has become my EDC. I like the idea of the macrostream but wish that the modes were reversed (low/high). This would make it more practical as an EDC when wanting a bigger light. High/low is better for tactical use and they make better lights for that. Hopefully they will offer this in the low/high configuration. They do offer the micro in both.
