Does anyone remember how these work from previous promotions? Let’s say you’re adding $100 worth of Bosch stuff at Lowes.com. Does it add the discount automatically, or do you have to enter a promo code? I’m wondering if these can be double-dipped with a Lowes 10% off coupon, for example. Seems like the Click & Go promotions were automatic, but I’m not sure about these. Thanks.

With Amazon, the Bosch “save $xx on $yyy” discounts are all automatic. No promo code is ever needed.

I don’t recall how it works with Lowes.

With some of the deals you have to “clip a coupon,” but it’s very obvious where and how to do this via the landing pages we’ve linked to.

Just use the 25% of HF coupons for better discounts than any holiday sales all year round. Lowes and HD both accept them too.

A lot of stores don’t accept HF coupons. The Lowes and HDs near me don’t even accept each other’s coupons unless they’re personalized coupons sent through the mail. This is all thanks to fraud and counterfeiting.

That’s more due to greed and a store manager that doesn’t feel like following corporate policy and thinks it’s ok to blow off customers rather than match a price or honor a coupon.

Home Depot matches all competitor coupons, period. Their store policy board at the customer service desk says so. If you have a store manager who wants to refuse to follow this policy, you need to call their regional manager, or the corporate office or customer service and tell them what is going on.

Lowe’s policy gives the store manager more leeway, they can honor a reasonable coupon or price, or turn away anything suspicious.

Yeah, I realize they hate matching Harbor Freight’s 20 and 25 percent off coupons, but if you’re going to have your store close enough to one and compete on tools, you’re going to have to eat it for those few bargain-hunting people.

I used the HF coupons a few times before my local Lowes and Home Depot stopped accepting them. Both gave the same reason for declining the coupon. If I’m buying a Dewalt drill ( which I never would ), HF isn’t really a competitor since they don’t carry that brand. I was really disappointed, but I understand the logic behind that decision.

My buddy is looking for a Porter Cable portable planer, but I’m not seeing the PC deals on Amazon. Do you know if it’s expired or just hasn’t gone into effect yet?

Some of the “up to xx% off” deals can be hit or miss. At the least they require greater scrutiny. For instance, this Porter Cable hand planer is priced at $85. Its list price is said to be $160.64, making the $85 price a 47% discount. 47% is true to the “up to 50% off” claim, but so is 20%, 10%, 5%, and 0%. The street price for that hand planer is $90 and up, but that means $85 only reflects a 5.56% discount.

Right now I don’t see any set $10 off $50 or similar promos for Porter Cable for the holiday season, but it will probably be a late addition. Only a few of their holiday deals have been posted via their promotional back-end, with more sure to come as Black Friday nears.
