Dewalt FlexTorq 40pc Screwdriver Bit Set

Over at Amazon, they have a couple of “early Black Friday 2018” power tool accessory deals, two of which caught my attention.

First, a Dewalt impact bit set deal is back. For $20, you get a Dewalt 40pc FlexTorq impact-rated screwdriver bit set. It’s a decent bargain, including a bit holder, nutdrivers, and a selection of power bits and insert bits.

While not a hot deal, it’s a good one.

Here are the other Dewalt power tool accessory deals.

Bosch Jig Saw Assortment 10pc

There’s also a Bosch 10pc t-shank jigsaw blade assortment, featuring 2 each of 5 different styles.

It’s $6.72, and an add-on item, meaning you have to include it as part of a $25+ order.

It’s a good starter set, or supply replenishment pack.

CCC shows that the Dewalt set is only a couple of dollars less than it normally sells for. It even dropped to $17 earlier this year.

    Thanks for the link though.

I read Amazon was offering free shopping everything for the holidays. I figured that really could only mean add-on items would now be free. Maybe it’s just a promo intended for non-Prime members.
It would be a nice feature to buy and ‘bank’ add-on items that don’t qualify for shipping on their own. Then ship on the next reasonable order

I have the 10pc Bosch jigsaw blade set and they are solid. In fact I picked up some more of the metal cutting blades last week.

I think I picked up this set at Lowes for under $10, so I wouldn’t call this a spectacular deal. If you look at the Camelcamelcamel data it looks like this set has been hovering around $10 anyway.

I cut for about an hour straight through 16ga steel with one of the fine tooth metal blades (I did snap the other one almost right away though because I was being an idiot and pulled the jigsaw vertically out of the kerf).

I’ve cut through quite a bit of aluminum plate with the metal blades too.

I haven’t used the wood blades as much but they’ve worked well when I’ve needed them.

Dewalt bit containers are horrible, the bits are only ok…..Bosch makes great bits and containers

And having all three of these I’d say the new-ish Milwaukee’s are at least at Bosch level.

All of my Dewalt and Milwaukee bit cases are a struggle to get bits in and out of. They make great looking display cases on the rack at HD, but even if the bits are great, and I do like most of the Milwaukee Shockwave bits, using the cases is an exercise in frustration. I do agree regarding the Bosch bits and cases, by comparison their cases are a dream to use and they make great bits.

The designers of these cases should be required to work several eight hour shifts where they must constantly change bits while working from these cases.

But back to reality, does anyone have a better suggestion for the best case design or a better way to store and use their selection of impact bits?

I’ve come to like these the best (or dislike them the least?).
