Amazon’s Prime Day 2023 sales event is still a couple of weeks away, but they’ve started to crank out early deals on tools.
I had started off wanting to write a tongue-in-cheek post, to poke fun at the lack of good deals and the amount of hype mass media has started to give Prime Day ahead of time. But I dug into Amazon’s tool deals pages, and there are some noteworthy bargains.
Here’s a look at the deals and promos that I feel are worth a quick look.

Save on Wen Tools & More
There are great deals on Wen woodworking tools and a couple of other brands, such as Craftsman.
This combination sander, for example, is just $96.09 and eligible for an extra 20% clickable coupon, bringing the price down down to just under $77.
Some of the other promo items in this category include a Wen oscillating sander, Craftsman belt sander, and Wen scroll saw.

Save on Select Bosch Power Tools
There are new promos on select Bosch tools and equipment.
Here are the top 5 that attracted my attention:

Save on Little Giant Ladders and More
Little Giant’s 17-foot Velocity multi-functional ladder is on sale, as are other ladder and stepladder models.

There are some unusual inclusions here, such as basement sliding windows, but it’s worth quickly browsing through the stepladders and convertible ladders if you’re in the market for one.

Save on Other Bosch Cordless Power Tools
A bunch of Bosch cordless power tools are on sale, plus some corded tools – namely a planer and hammer drill which are both under $100.
The cordless power tools are mainly from the 12V Max system, with kit and add-on tool-only options.
For some reason, the older PS41 impact driver is still around, with the 2-battery kit priced at $89. Or, you can get the cordless screwdriver and impact driver kit, with the same 2 batteries and charger, on sale for $89.
So that’s the PS41 impact kit for $89, or the PS41 impact with PS21 screwdriver kit for $89. Even if you’re unsure about the benefit of a cordless screwdriver when you have an impact driver – I personally love using them – just get the combo kit instead.
I should mention that this particular 2-tool combo is atypical; it’s normally the PS31 drill/driver and PS41 impact driver combo that’s on sale, usually for $99 at the peak of a holiday shopping season.
It looks like the PS21 screwdriver kit is on sale as well, also for $89. This one’s a little better, however, since it’s also eligible for $20 off $100+ bonus savings.
There are other deals, such as a compact reciprocating saw kit for just over $97, kits featuring the current generation 12V Max brushless drills and drivers, and a couple of compellingly priced 18V tool kits.
Save $20 off $100+ Select Bosch Tools
If you’re interested in the $89 cordless screwdriver kit, it makes sense to add just over $11 to the order to get $20 off. So with say a Bosch screwdriver bit set that’s priced at $11.99, you get the cordless screwdriver kit for ~$81, plus the bit set.
There are a lot of power tool accessories included in this promo, but also some notable tools, such as a $59 angle grinder and a compact trim router.
Bosch’s 10-pack of carbide-toothed oscillating multi-tool blades are also eligible for the $20 off $100+ savings. I highly recommend these blades, especially when you can buy them in bulk for less than $10 per blade.

Save on Garage Storage Products
There are a bunch of garage storage and shelving products on sale, the most notable being New Age Pro 4-foot and 8-foot suspended shelves.
The 4-foot shelf is a particularly good price at $92.70 before 20% clickable coupon, or just over $74 after coupon. The 8-foot shelf is on sale for $120.
Amazon has a couple of Hyloft ceiling and wall-mounted storage products on sale as well.

Save on Select Dewalt Power Tool Products
The Dewalt deals selection is a bit limited, but it’s still worth a quick look.
Some of the more interesting deals include Dewalt’s 20V Max 5Ah battery 2-pack on sale for $149 (Home Depot has the same deal price right now), cordless fan for $99, and a 2-pack of compact 2Ah batteries for under $64.
Here’s Amazon’s tool deals section, in case you want to sort through the full list.

The best WEN drill press (4214T), with a perfectly serviceable supplementart woodworking table, is under $300. While not a high end drill press, it’s a very good one at that price. My inner tool snob wants a Jet, PowerMatic or Nova, but my practical self is really happy to have this drill press. It’s way better than it should be for under $300.

I don’t see the option for the Wen 20% off coupon.
I wonder how well the spindle/belt sander works. I wanted the Ridgid version but it’s pretty pricey nowadays.
Stuart
It’s only on certain tools, such as the benchtop combo sander.
You should see the clickable coupon just under the price on the product page.
MT
I’m not seeing any coupons either, just offers for two different payment plans and/or a gift card if approved for a credit card.
Travis
Same here. Tried it with 2 different Prime accounts and don’t see a coupon on the sander.
Stuart
Hmm. That’s weird.
I still see it, and there’s a “shop more” link that leads to a random collection of products also eligible for 20% off.

I’ve seen that the coupons end after a single use, but haven’t seen user-targeting coupons before. How am I seeing it and some of you are not? There’s also no mention of it being a Prime-only offer.
MM
I just checked using my Prime account. When I view the sander via the original link in the article it shows no coupon. When I click the link in your reply just above it shows me an error icon instead of the product and the message “not eligible” but it doesn’t explain why.
James+C
I hate the idea of user-targeted coupons. First they see who can be swayed into a purchases with the lowest possible coupon. Next Alexa will be offering coupons for things like signing up new Prime members down at the senior center or throwing bricks through the windows of Target and Walmart.
David
No coupon for me either.
John Lobert
Nope. No coupon.
Uncle Ralph
No coupon option for me, either
Koko The Talking Ape
No coupon for me either. 🙁

I bought the Dewalt cordless belt sander for $238.12. It said it was 25% off and I sold my Ridgid one to reduce my battery platforms by one.

I see the coupon on the bench top sander. At that price I wish I needed one!

The Bosch 12v brushless flexiclick kit with additional OMT is also $149.

Thats a great deal, I believe its the regular omt, not brushless. Hard to tell. They have the brushless bare tool omt for $79 and it shows ec on the tool after model # which ends in n
Jeremiah D
Edit: the description says its brushless. Im thinking about this deal. Ive got a brushed flex click but have considered ec and also wanted a 2nd omt.

The Bosch PS21, PS31, PS41 are great tools, especially for the price. The are the older no n-brushless versions but they are great, even compared to the brushless PS42 which I like. I have several of each in different tool kits for different uses.
The PS21 is a great screwdriver and has clutch settings good for even delicate materials/torques.
The PS41 will drive some pretty good sized lag screws for its size.
Having all three PS21 screwdriver, PS31 drill, PS41 impact is everything just about all DIY homeowners would ever need. I bought a set when they are on sale over time to give to my daughter when she is a homeowner in a couple years
They are available for $50 on Ebay as a open box bare tool without batteries if you want one to complete the collection. You can also get decent aftermarket batteries. The Bosch magnetic led light is great too.

Some of these are not the deals they appear to be. I use a shopping bot that shows me Amazon’s price history on the item page. The 10-pack of Bosch oscillating blades come up at $85.55 today – but they were $69.63 on June 9, or app. $15 less and no need to add $15 more to the cart to get $20 off. If my need isn’t urgent, I use the bot to ‘droplist’ things I want, then sit back and wait for an alert to tell me the price has come down to the previous low.

Acme has started their 4th of July sales. This one seemed pretty nice if you need atomic:

Also KCtool has the Knipex electrician shears on sale again as tool of the day today for $24.

Still no sign on the coupon on the belt/disc sander. I just ordered the oscillating spindle/ belt sander. Camelcamelcamel tells me it’s actually a good sale.

That Bosch sander goes on sale a lot and it’s always a must buy when it does. I’ve got two. One that has a pregnant duragrit 80 grit carbide disc and the other is for regular sanding.
Fyrfytr998
Was looking at the little giants. The one I need is cheaper direct from Lowes.
David
Check Costco if you have a membership.

So $150 for TWO 5Ah Dewalt batteries ($75/ea), versus … where are the new 5aH Powerstacks?? Still $300 for two. That just is … no sense.
MM
Yeah, I’m still waiting on deals for the new powerstacks as well. I haven’t seen much in the way of combo kits with them either though admittedly I haven’t been looking super hard.
