I’m curious for top recommendation regardless of price in the 12v line. I have smaller hands that make the slide pack much more comfortable than the in handle 12v tools but not to the degree that tool lineup doesn’t come into play. Makita and Dewalt have the best feel in hand but their limited tool lineup makes it hard to go with one of them over Milwaukee.

None of the slide pack-style brands can compete with Milwaukee’s M12 tool selection.
It’s not convenient to go with a different brand, but you have to choose – comfort or the convenience of only having one 12V-class tool system?
I’m really liking the new Dewalt tools. Makita’s are good. There’s also Metabo.
I bought Milwaukee M12 kits last year due to price.

I’ve got a bunch of 12V Bosch tools simply because they hit the market first and at least world wide (eBay/AmazonUK) have everything I’ve needed.
That said I’m now only adding M12 Milwaukee gear because now they are in a tear and I like variety (over logic sometimes)…
As an aside the tiny seeming Makita black tools might be worth your time road testing if you believe smaller is a better fit for you.
They’re great from what I’ve seen and a number of acquaintances love them.

I ended up in the Bosch 12v lineup simply because of the Flexclick deal they had at $117 a few months ago. It was a tool I actually had an immediate use for…and I’m extremely happy with it. I ended up getting an impact driver as well to replace an older 9.6v Bosch impact driver that worked shockingly well (but no shocks). I do agree that the Milwaukee 12v selection is the most extensive out there although Makita seems to have a good one as well. Bosch is definitely lacking in variety.

I picked up this deal from Amazon. Great price. However, the included Charger is not the one that is pictured. My set came with Bosch’s new smaller style charger. Doesn’t look like much, but It works fine and charged the battery pretty rapidly. This is my first foray into Bosch’s 12V line, so I don’t have the older style charger to compare it to. I do like these tools a lot. Will be putting them to good use as my around the house/smaller jobs set. Still have all my M18 Milwaukee stuff for the bigger projects that require more power.

This is actually a good thing. I asked Bosch, and they said the new smaller charger will be replacing the current one and that it actually charges batteries at a faster rate.

Great set and a great price, but even as a Bosch 12V owner/user, I’m wondering if Bosch is going to have the brushed 12V tools for the next few decades and never make the 12V lineup all brushless.
Seems like it’s the same tools for the same/similar sale prices for all the major sales holidays every year.
