Over at Amazon and Home Depot, this Bosch GLM 10 compact 35′ laser distance measuring tool is on sale for $25. Last year, it was $30.
This is a no-frills model, but if you don’t currently own a laser distance measuring tool, chances are this little guy can handle all of your needs.

Last night I was measuring TV viewing distances. I’ve been meaning to upgrade ours for a while, and just might do so during the upcoming holiday season. A laser distance measuring tool would have worked a lot better than the 25′ tape that I retrieved from the kitchen cabinet. I actually went to grab a laser, but I must have used it elsewhere and not returned it, so I grabbed the tape instead.
Laser distance measuring tools are great for unsupported interior measurements, quick measurements, and measurements in awkward spots where you can’t maneuver a tape easily or politely.
This is a very good buy, at $25. It’s a handy tool, and if you don’t already have a laser distance measuring tool, now’s a good time to think about it.
Accuracy is ±1/8″ at up to 35 feet.

Over at Home Depot, they have the Bosch GLL 2 self-leveling cross-line red laser level on sale for $40.
I don’t remember seeing a brand-name cross-line laser this inexpensively priced before. I have not tested this model – yet – but I have worked with other Bosch laser levels that I really liked.
This is an entry-level model, but has all the makings of a good tool for DIYers and pros who don’t need extra features.
You can select between horizontal, vertical, and cross lines. The range is said to be up to 30 feet. It comes with an adjustable mounting accessory and (2) AA batteries.
Accuracy is ±3/16″ at 33 feet.
The self-leveling pendulum has a lock-out, for transport or storage.
There is a similar and I believe more recent model, GLL 30, which sells for $70 at Amazon. That model might be newer and updated, but its accuracy is a little worse, at ±5/16″ at 30 feet.

I’ve had Leica and Hilti laser distance meters, and currently have a higher-end Bosch one. I hate this Bosch one as the menu system is completely confusing. I’ve had it over a year and still cannot completely remember how to easily change settings. I’m sure that wouldn’t be an issue with the $25 unit.
The Bosch line lasers are a lot more expensive than the Dewalt and always look a lot less durable as well. Their accuracy is not any better st those higher price points either.
Currently I own the Dewalt cross line laser (model 88 something) and it’s literally perfect. Easy to use, great design and good range. The only reason I still keep my Bosch rotary laser is because it has the ability to lay a plumb beam that I use when laying out long basement framed walls.

laser level shows $70 for me…

At Home Depot? Or Amazon? The Amazon one is $70.
“There is a similar and I believe more recent model, GLL 30, which sells for $70 at Amazon. That model might be newer and updated, but its accuracy is a little worse, at ±5/16″ at 30 feet.”
That’s provided for context and comparison.
I added that because if you look for the GLL 2 on Amazon, there is a listing, but it points to the other as a newer (and seemingly better) model.

Sorry typo, Home Depot shows $79 for me.
Stuart
Hmm, it might be based on local availability, at least before Black Friday.
Sorry about that, I thought it was live nationwide.
If that’s the case, you should see the sale price by Thursday or Friday. Trying other zip codes might help, too.

it has been on sale for this price at my HD for almost 2-weeks. still shows as 39. There is a triple beam Model # GLL 3-15 at Lowe’s for 99.

Ordered on Sunday, nearest HD out of stock, but next ones have it for in store pickup at 39.99 in northern New England.
Going to replace my no longer accurate B&D tripod laser level.
Thanks, Toolguyd!

GLL 2 Laser Level and GLM 20 X are both $39.88 at our local HD.
Stuart
Thanks! GLM 20 is $40 at Amazon too. That’s a good deal too, but the GLM 10 for $25 seems more appealing.
The line lasers have been picked clean at my local HD, the GLM 20 side of the display box is nearly full.
