Mega Price Drop on Bosch’s Power Box 360 Jobsite Radio and Charger!

Bosch PB360S Power Box 360 Jobsite RadioI reviewed Bosch’s 18V Power Box 360 jobsite radio and charger a long time ago, and really liked it. The Power Box 360 is incredibly tough, reasonably featured, and sounds great for what it is. Plus it can charge up your 18V Li-ion battery packs.

It settled at the back of my mind for a while, until I saw one on TV, when it was used in a superhero’s workshop. That TV prop spotting had reminded me of how awesome the Bosch Power Box 360 is, with its built-in sub, roll cage design, and covered power outlets for when it’s plugged into an AC source.

As we previously discussed, there is a brand new Bluetooth-equipped Bosch Power Box 360C that will soon be hitting the market. When I wrote up that preview post, I speculated that the PB360C might be priced over $200, since the PB360S standard-version of the radio was currently priced at $190 at Amazon.

At the time, the regular price seemed to be $199 or so, with only Amazon offering it at the slightly discounted price of $190. Well, that was a month ago.

The Bluetooth-equipped PB360C Power Box 360 was justed listed on Amazon, for $199. How could that be, when the standard version is priced at $190? Well, it was priced at $190.

Amazon has dropped the price of the standard Bosch Power Box 360 jobsite radio, down to $129.

That’s right, $129.

When I wrote about the Bluetooth Power Box 360 (here’s another link to the preview), I assumed that the standard Power Box 360 would remain at $190, and so I was very surprised to see that it’s now $129. That’s a roughly $61 price drop, or about 32%!

If you consider that the regular price was $199, that means $129 reflects a $70 or 35% price drop!

That’s a pretty big discount. Is this a permanent price drop or temporary sale price? I can’t answer that, and don’t anyone who could or would tell me, but I can tell you that these will probably fly off the warehouse shelves at this price.

$129 is an excellent price for a durable and well-featured jobsite radio.

Update: It dropped in price at Home Depot too. There, it says that you “save $70 while supplies last,” and the expiration is said to be 10/31/2015. So maybe it’s football season and not the upcoming Bluetooth version that prompted the discount.

Buy Now(via Home Depot)

I do remember seeing the Power Box 360 drop in price seasonably, usually around holiday and tailgating seasons, but usually with $150+ price points. I’m fairly sure that $129 is a new low.

Stuart it’s been at 129 for about 3 weeks at Lowe’s. With a 20 off of $120.00 code you can get it for 109 at Lowe’s. I wonder how easy would it be to add blue tooth to it?

My Lowes doesn’t even have these on display. =(

According to the stock checker, the 2 closest stores to be have 0 in stock. The 3 next nearest ones have 2 each.

To add Bluetooth, you could use one of these doohickeys: https://14cyiuhvcgv.com/dewalt-jobsite-radio-bluetooth-adapter/%3C/a%3E or any other aftermarket adapter.

I just checked the stores down here have them in stock one has 6 of them others between 2-3. Still not moving. I’m gonna wait a bit, and see when they get the new ones in stock and see if the old ones go down some more. But your right they are pretty cheap.

It’s been $129 at my Lowe’s for longer than that.

Also looks like some of the 12V/18V tools are getting clearanced out to make way for the brushless tools instead.

They don’t charge 12v. Problemo for moi. Nor, apparently, does the Bluetooth model.

yea but I got rid of me Bosch 12v stuff gave it to my father in law. Know I have Bosch 18v drill, impact, hammer drill, 4 batteries, and 2 chargers. My new 12v line is all Milwaukee stuff. That’s why I’m on the fence with this, Jump on it or sell my Bosch 18v stuff, and but M18 drill/hammer, and impact combo….. don’t know what I’ll do.

Bosch 18V or not, it’s still a kick-ass radio and powered outlet box. I just received a demo of the new unit, and I’ll likely test it plugged-in at least half the time, if not more.

I’ve started liking Bluetooth speakers for mainly cordless purposes, due to their smaller put-me-anywhere size.

I put AirPlay capability into my Bosch radio about 3+years ago with a airport express. It’s got way better range than Bluetooth but it’s a tiny bit more work to get running. Bluetooth is great but it’s limited range is a big downside.

One thing I don’t like about the Bosch Power Box 360 Radios is that the DC port doesn’t work when on battery power. I really wish it did, so I can run the external bluetooth module and charge my cell phone.
