Bosch recently announced a lot of new tools, including first-ever cordless power tools for the brand, hand tools, angle grinders, laser levels, and a wall scanning tool.
We’ve already talked some of these new Bosch tools, but a recap seems like a good idea.

Even though this might look like a lot, there are signs that even more new tools are on the way.

Very nice they’re bringing more pro tools. I am not in the market for these; but it gives me some hope that extra 12v tools may come this way too.
I really want to expand my small task toolkit beyond drill, driver, flexi, recip, jigsaw and router.
Jared
I’d like more 12v stuff too. I have the 3″ cutoff tool and the die grinder. Both of those are tools where the small 12v footprint actually makes them more useful to me.
John
Never understand why so many angle grinder models are necessary. Makita does the same. I have 5 or 6 grinders but beyond switch variation and wheel size, anything else doesn’t matter.
Luis
Different Amp ratings (for heavier duty tasks), slide switch or paddle switch, speed selection or fixed speed, Anti Kickback or w/o this feature.
It gets convoluting for sure, but most brands don’t even offer a few of these features even on their top of the line models, so there it is. And some people want to save money so they might not need the anti kickback nor the bigger AC motor.

Different markets.
Get 12 house framers from across the country, and every one of them will insist on a different method or tool than the others, but all will be successful.
Grinders are no different. My boss loves 2-handed-actuation paddle lock-on grinders. I find them horrific for any task that’ll take less than 15 full minutes of tool use. And either of us will die on our own respective hills.
Considering it’s only a minor molding change on Bosch’s part, it’s a pretty simple fix to broaden the market of the tool, usually in ways that other brands don’t reach the same way– even though other brands will have the same trigger style, activation, and feel will likely be different.

Interested to see how the wall scanner works. I remember Dewalt launching one years ago and it almost immediately disappeared. Seems like something that would be popular if someone can get it right.
“one-hand activation” are a lot of nailers out there requiring two hands?
S
I find it funny. I marked an ‘x’ on the back of my wall scanner to basically create the same concept.
There’s plenty of times where there’s obstacles that are picked up by the scanner, and it’s important to know the edge limits in all directions for hole planning.

Glad to see Bosch bringing these here. I love the 12v line and hope it gets some additional releases.
Rick
Can’t tell from the pics, but seems there is a good possibility the GKS18V-25N saw will ride on the Bosch track system. Woo-Hoo!! If so, I’m in!
Rick
EDIT: yep…. on the Bosch site, it specifically shows it being used on the tracks…. nice!
Rick
Edit of the EDIT: hmmm…. different product #’s, so, maybe not.
Luis
from what I understand only the GKS18V-25GCN (the one with the BT module option and the speed interface) comes with track capability.
I can definitely say my GKS18V-25CN doesn’t have track capability and from what I read this new N version is the same tool without Bluetooth option so I’m pretty sure no track capability either.
Of course if you want a dedicated tracksaw you can always opt for the GKT18V-20GCL
Ken
The newest track compatible saw is GKS 18V-57-2 GX. Note that the “X” at the end of the model number is an essential differentiator from other models that are not rail compatible. This is a specialized cross-cutting saw and looks really cool. Not sure if they will bring it to the US market though.
Stephen
Happy to see the compact 400ft-lbs impact wrench. Would be nice if they offered a 1/2″ drive as well. They have
Luis
There’s a GDS18v-330CN with 330ft/lbs driving and 590 ft/lbs breakaway but it’s almost 1″ longer. Both cost the same, though.
Nathan
Like the competition in some areas. I was thinking of a 3 plane laser but might hold off a bit to see the new one
Jason
Why oh why didn’t they include the new 6″ cordless sander with this new tool release?!?! Ugh!!!! I need that thing…
Daniel
I got the 12v 3 plane laser and I absolutely love it I’ve been using it on a daily biases for the past year, now I could get one in 18v or the 3.7 back pack battery! I might get the 18v model but I am eye balling that out door rotary laser at the moment.
