Another “Tell Us What You Want to Win” ToolGuyd Giveaway

Sep 20, 2013 Stuart 70 Comments

If you buy something through our links, ToolGuyd might earn an affiliate commission.

Okay, here’s the deal – ToolGuyd’s 5th anniversary is coming up in a few months (~mid-December), and I feel that giveaways are a great way to celebrate and thank some of the readers that made it possible.

To enter, browse around Amazon’s tool department, find some tools you would like to win, and describe it/them in a comment. A link, description, or brand and model number works fine. There’s an up to $50 limit, and the product(s) must be eligible for free or Prime shipping.

If you are new to ToolGuyd or have no idea what to ask for, you can also browse around our post archive for inspiration, but keep in mind the $50 max limit.

Surprise me! is also an option, but will require your comment to include a haiku or 4-line poem.

US residents only.

Why are the prizes limited to what’s sold or fulfilled by Amazon? 1) Because they’re my favorite tool distributor (sorry everyone else, but it’s true), and 2) because I want to put as much of ToolGuyd’s giveaway budget towards prizes and as little as possible towards shipping fees.

There’s some latitude for straying away from tool-related categories, just don’t ask for a yoga mat, the latest romance novel, or anything too unrelated.

Search Now: Amazon Tool Dept.

How many winners? At least 1, maybe 2. I have $100 budgeted for this giveaway.

Giveaway entry window ends 11:59pm ET 9/27/13

The first 1 or 2 winners will be chosen at random. If there’s money left I will start looking for names I recognize from previous comments.

Additional chances to win? None this time, but I wouldn’t mind if you wanted to:

Follow me on Google Plus (I signed up using a ToolGuyd email earlier today and quick-added everyone Google suggested to my circles. Follow me and I’ll have a reason to work on the profile.)
Follow ToolGuyd on Google Plus (And maybe I’ll have a reason to post there!)
Like ToolGuyd on Facebook
Follow ToolGuyd on Twitter
Subscribe to ToolGuyd’s YouTube Channel
Sign up for the Newsletter (And I’ll have a reason to send them on)

P.S. Amazon is not a sponsor and they know nothing about this giveaway. The above Amazon links are referral/affiliate links, meaning that if you place an order within a certain amount of time ToolGuyd receives a small commission. (Keep in mind that funding via Amazon referral commissions are partially responsible for keeping ToolGuyd operating smoothly, honestly, and independently, and also contribute to our giveaway budget.) No purchase is necessary to enter this giveaway. If you want to browse around on Amazon without our receiving referral credit, just type in amazon.com before clicking the links, or browse Amazon via an incognito or private browser window.

Thanks for doing this Giveaway. I would love to win one of the following multitools,

Thank you for doing this Stuart. Although I am fine if I don’t win, I personally would prefer an American made Stack-On brand model number R-519-2 metal tool box. This is well under $50 and because this is shipped and sold directly by Amazon, shipping is free. Naturally is Amazon Prime certified as well.

But since this item is 100% American made, not only would you buying an awesome product, but you would be support American jobs as well. So you’d be doing multiple awesome actions in all one.

    Thank you Stuart regardless.

How are we supposed to trim our wish lists down to less than $50 given all the great tools you have reviewed?

I suppose need is the driving element for me, so I have been wanting a portable tool box/work center. The Stanley 3-in-1 Rolling Workshop would meet my needs for that and is below the cost point.

Perfect… ToolGuyd Christmas in December! Thanks!

My first thought was a set of nifty Westling socket holders, but then realized they not Amazon. My second thought was the nifty B&D Gyro electric screwdriver. After reading your reviews both of these sounded really nifty and I haven’t made the plunge yet. Yep, both would be great presents, as they are not something I’ll buy for myself right now.

What I really want for Xmas, and I know I will get it…… Great tool reviews/ideas and notice of good buys from ToolGuyd, just as you have in the past. Thanks!

    With great seasonal anticipation!

Cut him some slack, shipping to other countries tends to be quite expensive and considering Stuart is spending his own hard earned money and up to $100, you can’t blame him for having some restrictions. I don’t know any other bloggers, especially tool bloggers that are that generous. Even if I don’t win anything I sincerely appreciate that Stuart is doing this.

Congrats on the upcoming 5 years! Great website content, Stuey! As a fellow Garage Journal member, I am a big fan of Snap-on’s Dual 80 ratchets. I own 1/4″ and 3/8″ drive, non-flex versions. After reading positive comments on Garage Journal, I have my eye on this Dual 80 ratchet twin: Bahco model 8150, 1/2″ drive, 10.5″ long ratchet. I have had what I call my “Electrical Toolbox” for 30+ years. One would think that I would be intelligent enough to have some safety screwdrivers in there. Wrong.

Although I’m just a home owner, I seem to use it a lot for myself and family.

    1. Dewalt Toughsystem small toolbox- great gift for the DIY’er all the way to the contractor, long lasting, tough, all while staying organized. with all those attributes makes for a productive project. Still haven’t been able to make the leap and buy one but a few people on my crew have one and there pretty handy.

    2. C.B. Hanson Magnet Stud finder- Probably the best time saving tool that is simple, cheap, dependable and often looked over. On the Job site I have crews from all different trades asking where I got it and how great of a product it is, My Company now requires all trim carpenters to carry one. (I have 3 but still a good giveaway for someone)

I’m stunned by what some of my fellow college students throw away. Just last night I rescued a full set of pots and pans that were barely used and they are on their way to Goodwill.

Thank you Stuart for all your hard work, and of course for the Toolguyd giveaway. I would like to have a better led flash light. TheMaglite XL200 LED Flashlight, Black seems to fit the bill. http://www.amazon.com/Maglite-XL200-S3016-XL200-Flashlight-Black/dp/B005EHL6O8/?tag=toolguyd-20 Plus still under $50. Here goes my 4 line poem.
I need a up grade, the only one that cares is Stuart. I have to stop buying my flash lights at Menards or from old farts. Maybe I should start going back to Kmart. And stop avoiding Walmart, so I can buy and fill up my cart. Or just go back to playing the harp and watching martial arts.

    Stuart,
Since you mentioned it as a suggestion, I wouldn’t mind a Dewalt Tough system small box. Thanks for doing this give away! Your reviews and mentions have led to quite a few of my tool purchases. Keep up the good work.

    Hey Stuart,
Thanks for the opportunity for the Christmas present, but more importantly, thanks for your reviews and congrats on your 5th.

It was a tough decision but since I started electrical engineering and a nice quality ESD precision screwdriver set would be perfect.

Love the site. I’ve been lusting over both the Dewalt Toughcase and the Bosch LBox, whichever you think would be best for a budding DIYer who is also a gadget nut.

    I’d like a Leatherman Squirt ES4 Multitool:
    http://www.amazon.com/Leatherman-831204-Squirt-Keychain-Scissor/dp/B0032Y4IUE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1380455882&sr=8-1&keywords=Leatherman+Squirt+ES4

I don’t really care about color, though I had Red before, so maybe Blue or Black to change it up…
As I said I’ve had one before and it was GREAT. I’m an electrician at a plant and it saved me so many trips to go and get my regular strippers.
Being on a key chain, I lost it somehow about 2 years ago. It was a birthday present I just never replaced it. I intended to get a second one for my home keys (this one was on my work keys), it just never happened.
I really wish Leatherman would make a full sized model with more tools.

Entry to this giveaway has ended, and I am almost through sorting through comments. Multiple entries and people not abiding by the rules have made keeping winner selection random a little bit more challenging than usual. I’m working on a big project all week, and so winners will most likely be chosen and notified in a couple of days. On the bright side, the giveaway fund has swelled a little bit, so there will be more than 2 winners/gift recipients.

So Stuart, if I may, in case this was mentioned elsewhere, who won this contest? Not to rush you if this hasn’t been announced though.

        Thank you very much.
