Sears decided to have an early Black Friday sale and slashed the price of this Craftsman 2-tool starter combo kit. The Craftsman C3 19.2V cordless tool combo includes a 3/8″ drill, a 5-1/2″ circular saw, and a single 19.2V battery.

By no means is this a heavy duty combo, but it’s a nice starter kit or gift for those looking for their first cordless power tools.

If you wait for Sears’ Black Friday sale, the drill/driver will be $40 by itself. This sale ends on Nov 26th. The combo price of $69.99 is reflected in your cart as you checkout.

If you’re looking for a kit with a slightly better drill with a 2-speed gearbox and two batteries instead of one, check out this Ryobi cordless starter kit, which is only $20 more.

I bought this kit many years ago. At the time I loved the drill- that was before I had discovered how nice smaller, lighter drills were. The batteries held up decently well, but now always select my 12V impact driver or a corded drill over this guy.

As for the circular saw, I never had much luck with it. I never used it until my batteries were a little old, but it really didn’t have the juice to cut anything thick like a 2×4. The blade is also really crappy. And unlike drills, you never really need a cordless circular saw (your usually not sawing in the middle of your yard somewhere). I quickly gave up on this circular saw and bought a cheap corded 7.5″ circular for $50 instead.

nice deal,I have the ryobi version, the trim saw paired with an emerson tool clamp is great for paneling, also makes a nice cheap hardi cutter , I duct tape a vac duct on it and pair it with a diablo hardi blade works out nicely.
The drill is just another beater that I use for jobs like paint mixing, drywall, etc.

I bought the complete set,(circular saw, reciprocating saw, drill gun and flashlight with extra ,(4 different blades), for the circular saw back around 2006. They have since been stolen and I miss them as I used them several times a year around the house I rented and for other jobs. I built a porch ramp over 9 feet long. A porch roof 12 ft long. Several green houses with over 190 square feet of growing space. Not to mention all the boats I used these tools and others to repair. I only wish I could now afford to replace them after they were stolen by a former roommate pretending to be a landlord. Being on a low monthly fixed income I am constantly checking the internet hoping to find some of these Craftsman tools or the same items at a price I can afford to try and replace them. Not to mention all my other carpenter, electrical, plumbing and painting equipment. In short, I wouldn’t even hesitate to buy Craftsman cordless tools.

I bought a cordless drill and saw combo 12.9 about 5 years ago when I went to use it a year ago the batteries would not take a charge. I only used it for house projects around the house I was told craftsman would replace them. I do not intend on buying a new combo set or new batteries. What can I do about this issue
