Craftsman V20 Cordless Drill Driver CMCD700

Over at Amazon, they have a Black Friday 2019 “doorbuster” deal on the Craftsman 20V Max cordless drill kit, CMCD700C1.

We reviewed the Craftsamn CMCD700C1 kit here!

This is a fairly light duty drill, but it was a good value at $69. Shave $20 off that price, and $49 is a great value!

No, it doesn’t have a brushless motor. The included battery is 1.3Ah.

But you know what? If you just need a basic cordless drill kit, or are gifting a cordless drill kit to someone else, this kit at $49 is a heck of a lot better than the no-name generic-branded drills that are selling in this price range at Amazon.

If all you plan to spend is $50 on a cordless drill kit, this is the tool to buy.

Amazon describes this deal as a doorbuster, and so it’s like a deal of the day with limited supplies.

This is also a deal at Lowe’s, but they sold out already!

    They’re matching Lowe’s.

      Lowe’s sold out earlier.

Craftsman must have supplied them with enough quantities for this to be Amazon’s parallel/independent promo rather than just a price-match.

Lowe’s isn’t sold out, you just can’t buy online.

You also can’t see any inventory online. Call a store on Black Friday to see if they have something in stock? Good luck.

That’s why they call it a doorbuster, not a phone buster.

            Cmon Stuart, fair and balanced

I’ve been to Home Depot and Lowe’s stores before on Black Friday. Doorbusters sell out fast.

If they put their entire supply of these drill kits on display, then maybe there are some left. If they put a set quantity out and are reserving some for the rest of the holiday shopping season, they’re likely sold out now.

I am fair and balanced, but also reasonable.

If I can get a deal online without having to visit a store or call them, that’s what I’m going to do. I assume most readers have the same proclivity.

I’d bet that tomorrow or maybe after the weekend, the drill kit is magically available for online purchasing at Lowe’s again, and at the regular holiday season price of $69.

Lowe’s HAS allowed for online purchasing of doorbusters in the past, up to a certain allotment, which is why I assume they sold out. I didn’t check last night or this morning so I don’t know the context around this deal.

meh. rebuilt two black and decker cheapo drill/drivers after the clamshells cracked after a 6′ drop. my last craftsman drill/driver died because the cheap plastic gears and bushings wore out. I’ll stay with my dewalt thanks.

Craftsman is still dead to me after both Sears near me closed, orphaning my 2 full tool chests of their warranty. With the minimal tools in stock at Lowes, who is going to warranty my tools? What happens when I need a 6 point 17mm deep well 3/8 drive socket? Find me that socket at Lowes. Nope. I’ll buy at Acme. Or the MAC tools van whose laptop we replaced last year.

You realize Craftsman isn’t Sears anymore right?

They still have a bunch of these on display at my local Lowe’s, but even if I needed one it would still be a hard pass. How many new brushless V20 Craftsman products have been released in the last year (especially non-OPE)? Exactly.

This is Porter-Cable crapola all over again with a different paint job. Give us something, anything brushless besides the token hammer drill, compact drill, and impact driver. No confidence in the Craftsman platform’s future as a serious entity.

280 UWO so if you definitely have a $50 budget for a cordless drill then yes but honestly it’s going to disappoint anyone who uses it for anything other than drilling wholes in soft pine.

So many better deals out there than this. $99 Ryobi brushless hammer with 4.0Ah and rapid charger. $99 Makita drill and impact combo.

Realize those are pricier than this kit but they’re so much better.

Was really tempted by the $69 Skil 12V brushless drill/driver kit + extra battery at Lowe’s. felt great, well built, but I really can’t justify another drill or battery platform at this point. But if I needed a drill to start a tool set, that Skil would be high on the list.

I’ve covered so many brushless, pro-grade, 12V-class deals, it seemed worth it for a quick post on a drill deal for those who want less and at lower cost.

That’s fine. It is a good deal for the entry- entry-level model.

Re-read my post and it came off a little over the top. Sorry. Mostly just feel like drills are the most used tool for most regular people that it’s worth it to splurge a little to get something better than super entry level.

        Great coverage today.
