For Cyber Monday (and Tuesday?) Sears has slashed the price of their Craftsman 40″ Griplatch ball bearing tool storage combo! The pieces are discounted separately, so if you’re on a budget you can opt to buy either one.

The 14-drawer mobile tool cart is on sale for $536 $475, and the 8-drawer tool chest is $314 $275!

The Harbor Freight 13-drawer bottom is better made and cheaper all day long, and even more so with a coupon.

They have an equivalent top box as well.

I don’t have an HF box, so I can’t compare, but I do have a few Craftsman Griplatch boxes that I purchased 2 years ago, and they haven’t given me anything to complain about.

No doubt, they would serve most anyone well. Just saying less expensive (even than this sale) and sturdier is out there.

I have had both the HF and Craftsman griplatch. The only thing I dislike about griplatch is that if something behind the griplatch, like screwdrivers rolling in the drawer, it can make it nearly impossible to open.

Do either of thee brands (Craftsman or HF) have drawer safety (1 at a time) interlocks? We’eve comr to like that feature on our Lista cabinets

The grip-latch feature on the Craftsman keeps them closed unless you pull on the handle. The handle tilts slightly as you pull on it releasing a catch.

The HF one has just a detent in the slide, no latch, although their service cart has a spring-loaded lever that keeps the drawers closed. It’s more intrusive than the grip-latch, however.

I’m sorry, I misunderstood your question when I read it.

There is no interlock to prevent you from opening multiple drawers on either.

I’m sure the Listas are nice.

I don’t think I’ve seen any consumer tool storage units that had such interlocks, sorry.

I bought this box on black friday, since than I have all my tools loaded in it and so far I’am completely happy with it. Granted this is my home box which doesn’t get daily use. I think for that price you can’t go wrong.
