Craftsman QuickBoost Charger for NEXTEC 12V Batteries

Craftsman QuickBoost Nectec 12V Battery Charger

Craftsman recently announced their new QuicBoost charger for NEXTEC 12V batteries. This charger can bring a completely depleted battery back up to a 25% charge in just 3 minutes, providing extra power to finish a job without much delay.

So what does a 25% charge actually mean? If you’re using Craftsman’s right angle impact driver, a 25% recharge would allow you to drive in an extra 70 1-1/4″ screws.

I have a compact lithium-ion multi tool, model 61199 given to me for Christmas, the battery did not come with it, now that I have tried to get a battery Sears does not have it. Where and how can I get battery Model 11221. This is frustrating, I really need to use the multi-tool – please advise….

I just checked, and you’re right. Craftsman’s Nextec 12V battery is not available for shipping at the moment. It is available at some stores.

At the 3 stores nearest to me, one is reporting that they have 1 in stock, and two have a lead time of 24-26 days if you purchase online with the in-store pickup option.

The quickest and easiest option if you want a Nextec battery today (assuming none of your local Sears stores have it in stock,) is to buy a tool kit that comes with the battery. Right now, the impact driver kit is $45, and a drill-driver + multi-tool kit is $50.

I can definitely understand your frustration. It’s mind boggling how scarce spare batteries have become. Presumably Sears is assuming most Nextec users will purchase a kit and then bare-tool add-ons. Still, one should at least be able to purchase a spare battery online. Perhaps a new battery will soon be released? This would explain why model 11221 is “currently unavailable for shipping” online and hard to find in stores.
