New Craftsman Steel Square Hole Pegboard System

Craftsman Locking Steel Pegboard Black

Craftsman has come out with a new heavy duty steel hole pegboard system. The pegboard, which is available with black and red colors options, is made from epoxy-coated steel panels that are strong and scratch resistant.

The pegboard has square holes, which means great holding capacity, but it also means you have to use specific hooks. Other pegboard systems, such as Wall Control’s that we recommend, have round holes that work with industry-standard 1/4″ and 1/8″ hooks and accessories.

Craftsman bundles these pegboards with an assortment of 28 LocHook hooks:

  • (1) Multi-prong tool holder
  • (1) Multi-ring tool holder
  • (2) 4 in. single rod 30 degree bend
  • (2) 6 in. single rod 90 degree bend
  • (2) 5-3/4 in. double rod 80 degree bend
  • (3) 1 in. single rod 30 degree bend
  • (3) 3 in. single rod 30 degree bend
  • (3) 3 in. double rod 90 degree bend
  • (3) 2-1/4 in. curved hook
  • (2) Extended spring clips
  • (2) Standard spring clips
  • (2) Closed hammer/pliers holder
  • (2) Black plastic hanging bins with clips

Craftsman Locking Steel Pegboard Red

Each set comes with (2) 18 in. x 36 in. pegboard panels and mounting hardware.

Price: $50. The “regular” price is listed $100, but both sets are “on sale” for $50.

It looks like these Craftsman pegboard panels are red and black versions of Triton’s LocBoard pegboard panels. In fact, Craftsman’s product description for their pegboard system kits is identical to that of the Triton set that’s sold on Amazon, except Craftsman or Sears’ web team replaced LocBoard branding with “Craftsman” and “heavy duty locking pegboard.”

As these pegboards look to be less expensive versions of Triton’s LocBoard pegboard, and because Craftsman uses the same LocHook branding when describing the hooks that are bundled in both sets, these panels should also be compatible with Triton’s LocHook pegboard accessories.

Seeing as how Triton’s pegboard system set is priced at $110, and how (2) of their 18″ x 36″ pegboard panels are priced at $95-$110, these Craftsman bundles are very attractively priced at just $50 on sale.

I saw that too, but… only the galvanized steel pegboard sets are on sale there. imho, the ones with baked-on color finishes are much nicer options.

I have been using my Swedish made square hole pegboards for 20+ years.
    They are great, but expensive.

I recently got these boards and they are not bad at all. In fact for the price, they are a great deal. The peg hooks may be different from the standard, however I bought two sets and had more then enough hooks and some. Plus as you can see ,you can get more at amazon Triton hooks. The only thing I would of wanted more are the plastic bins. The paint looks nice but it will scratch with the added hooks, but I am not moving hooks from here to there, once I have them set I am good. Plus they look good with the craftsman logo. I would recommend as another means to peg board at such a great price.
