Craftsman Tradestack 2-Drawer Tool Box

Lowe’s has launched two new Craftsman Tradestack tool storage products – a 2-drawer tool box, and an open crate-style tote box.

Readers have started seeing both new products at Lowe’s stores (but not online yet).

As seen in this in-store image taken by Aaron (thank you!), the tool box has two pull-out drawers.

Can’t wait to see how these drawer units work out in real life – if they’re good enough, it might be enough to get me to switch from the tough system 1.0’s I’ve been using so far.

The drawer rigidity felt pretty similar to toughsystem 1.0. The latching seemed a little less reliable but that might just be that I’m not used to it.
These felt way tougher than tstack drawers and didn’t have the flex I’m used to on them. All that to agree with you that it’s probably worth the time to kick one around a little and see.

Pricing on this seems high to me. Toughsystem 2.0 2 drawer currently at ACME for less than $10 more, and it can be racked. The racking system is especially nice for the drawer units because of the center of gravity shift when opening a drawer. I’d be worried that these would dislodge?
My toughsystem first gen drawers work pretty well and were cheaper than this, so hopefully they go on sale or get cheaper in 6 months

New release prices always look high if your comparison is street pricing for something that’s been on the market for awhile. I’m sure prices will “settle” into a competitive groove eventually.

They drawers don’t seem to hold much weight – I assume here there aren’t slides on them or weak slides.

I sort of like that they take the organizer cups if you could buy them individually or it came with a full set.

I’d like to see another divider option also.

The drawer weight seems, to me, to be limited by the sturdiness of the plastic frame; the slides on the t-stack and the tough system feel like they could hold more weight and have a nice action.

I’ll echo the desire to buy a set of storage cups, since I use them in other organizers as well.

I was excited to see this on Instagram and was happy to share with Stuart as soon as I saw a post about them. I’m an early adopter of the TradeStack line and have been looking forward to the addition of a 2-drawer box since the initial launch.

I’m a little surprised at the cost, but I do think it’s right in line with where the TradeStack “stacks” up against the competition.

I’m now anticipating a cart with handle (similar to Tstak) since it wouldn’t make much sense to throw these drawers on top of the large rolling toolbox since you’d need to remove them to get into it.

I think these should be priced around $70-$80 tops. I checked them out this morning and sent Stuart images on IG but appears someone else got it out first! They seem really nice and glad the tradestack system is expanding. The weight limit is very low for these. I believe 17lbs max in each drawer.

One thing I really like about these, top side handle for carrying. One of the major complaints with the Packout drawers was the lack of handle for carrying.

      Thanks! *fixed*

Sorry – I took a second look to make sure it had a small tool box and not a large one, and missed the “an a” during proofreading.

So are these pretty much just cheaper Tough Systems? SBD is really confusing me these days with all the overlap between brands.

I bought the tool bag awhile back, trying to downsize multiple tool bags and tool boxes. I was hoping they would expand the line. Will be checking out the new stuff.

And the tool crate is available separately, got two of these as well.

My stack is getting very high. At least I can get things out of the drawers I got a few weeks ago without taking everything off the top.

How or where do I get the organizer cups to go in the Craftsman 2 drawer tool box?

They are the Tstak/Versastack cups. I really have no idea who sells them without having to buy them with a case which is sad. Thankfully I use my single Tstak drawer for tools so I had enough containers to fill up 2+ drawers.
